VX220 NA Straight Line Speed

I really fancy one of these and know that they are a lot quicker than my current car 0-60 but was just wondering what they are like once on the move. What is in gear acceleration like for overtaking at 50ish mph? I know that this isn't really the point in a car like this but I do like a bit of grunt fo getting past slower traffic.

Also why are these so cheap to insure? I got a couple of quotes to see what RWD sports cars are insurable for me (23 YO) and don't get why the VX came in at £600 and an S2000 at £1700 on confused. Seems very cheap for such a car. Looks like I might have to get one

In gear performance is fine, although it does tend to tail off over 90/100. Insurance wise they're only group 16, compared to the S2000's group 20. They're not often stolen, which keeps the premiums down. :-)

I've just sawpped to a vx from a 275bhp megane 225 and to be honest I dont miss the straight line speed even though the megane was hugley faster. You do have to keep the revs over about 4.5k but do that and the fact your 6 inches off the ground makes you feel like your really doing the speed your doing. My megane could do 130 and you'd hardly know. 130 in a vx would feel like 130!

Thanks chaps. Would like the turbo but the budget dictates that it's the NA or nothing. I suppose the next step is to go and drive one.
