Well im now 4 weeks in to my 6 month wait for delivery. I plumed for the 5.0 V8 in Magnetic with Black stripes. Chopped in my AM Vantage for this as i was not enjoying driving the AM and the running costs were just getting silly (fine if you enjoy driving it but when you dont ... just a bind) ! - its going to be a slow painfull 6 months !
Waiting periods are getting shorter. Mine was meant to be 6 to 9 months but came in less than 5! Chances are, yours will be here in the next 3 to 4 months or less! Your biggest issue will be whether to register it as a 17 or wait for 67!Jumturbo said:

Mine took 2.5 months to get shipped! If I was a betting man I'd reckon on 4-5 months depending on shipping time until the facelift model comes out and then the US demand will push that wait back up. Mine was ordered June last year arrived mid Feb, waited until 1st march for delivery so 8.5 months having been quoted 12.Garvin said:
It's been a long wait but picked mine up yesterday - Ruby red automatic, ebony trim and custom pack:
By the end of the coming week it will be fully protected both underneath and up top!
Stunning, congratulations.By the end of the coming week it will be fully protected both underneath and up top!
I have already booked mine in for underneath at modurstang. What are you doing on top?

Thanks. It goes to Modurstang on Tuesday for the full underbody treatment (there really is precious little under seal on the car at the moment) and then to Warman-Detailing on Thursday for the full clean, light polish and Gtechniq Crystal Serum Black (CS + Exo) treatment (body and rims).I have already booked mine in for underneath at modurstang. Good luck for Wednesday - not long now!
Hi all
I've been lurking in the background a bit, but finally gave in and placed my order a couple of weeks ago for a Oxford White GT fastback premium pack with the optional Thatcham alarm.
Already bought a few essential upgrades to pop on the garage shelf, whilst waiting the six months or so for the delivery.
As i am tucked away in the south of France it will be left hand drive.

Brought the 'stang to Modurstang today to have it under sealed. Up on the ramps it is clear that this was a very wise thing to do - there is virtually no
under seal on it at all and most of what has been applied is on the exhaust, diff and rear suspension! If 5% of the vulnerable underside was coated I'd be surprised.

There wasn't an option for a Thatcham alarm here.Is the standard one that comes with the S550 Thatcham certified? It shows up as Category 3 on their data-sheet, but I'm never sure whether it is or not. Insurance is due this month, which has reminded me...
Not sure on the specifics of the Alarm but understand its an add on to the factory installed unit done during the build. Dealer and others here could not tell me what it actually did and its benefit, but as crime is quite rife around here i thought it can only help. i think its probably the same as the American perimeter alarm option but looking through the on line manuals its not covered in those. Once it's in my grubby hands i'll post to let other know for the future.
Well I finally got it this morning. Have not stopped laughing all day, it's fantastic.
Is it my imagination or is the exhaust note louder when in sport mode?
Garvin, you are bang on about the under seal, it looks like it's been put on with a catapult. Modurstang in a few weeks for me too

It beggars belief that Ford could be so stupid / careless. What on earth are they thinking ?Spoil the ship for a ha'porth of (underseal) !
