sorry for the late reply, haven't been around the last few days, so

FestivAli - I'm well aware that forced induction is a more than adequate replacement for displacement, but I was refering to the writers comment about there being no replacement for displacement on the 4.6L SUPERCHARGED Mustang, doesn't make sense to me. And yes I am well aware that the XR6 Turbo would run rings around an XR8 if modified, but I was recently enchanted by that V8 sound of an XR8. The XR8 may come behind the XR6T and HSVs in outright performance but it comes first in sound, the Holdens need an aftermarket exhaust to sound that good.

Anyway my point was (or should have been) the Mustang should be based on the Falcon, the dimensions are virtually identical and the Falcon is a much better chassis than the 'stang. Ford don't mind something like a Mondeo and X-Type sharing platform but something as similar and as obvious as a Falcon and Mustang (the original mustang was based on a Falcon chassis) aren't shared? No wonder Ford is going down the drain.

blown 5.0 - Remember the new Ford GT40 uses the same 5.4L V8 engine in supercharged form . But a much cheaper option is here -
