Some people think it's a bit lighter on it's feet as the engine is a little lighter than the full fat V8. 320bhp vs 415bhp. Plenty power and it doesn't suffer from the Focus HG issues!

Worth a drive to see if it suits you. But personally speaking, a pony car is only complete with a V8 up front! And you'll be justifying the 4cyl for evermore!

Not that you buy a Mustang for economy, but the EB boys average about 30mpg. My average with the V8 which includes a fair portion of town driving is 21mpg. At a constant 60mph, the V8 will do low 30s.

Thanks for the reply ..I think first is a drive in one that may make my mind up if it a car I can take too.Is the 2.3 Eco worth considering or is it seen as the poor relative ?
It’s like being offered a handy or a blowy but taking the handy.

Why would you bother.

TBO at my age I would settle for either laugh
What is the preferred gears Stick or Auto. Have Stick on my other car but would have settled for PDK if available, suspect the Auto is no where like that or the DSG.

Depends who’s offering, I’d take a blowy from holly willoughby but only a handy from Ann widdacoombe

I test-drove an automatic initially (2016 MY), and much prefer my manual. However, I believe the new model will have a much-improved automatic option (although it might be quite expensive as a result).

I bought mine in March 16, just sold last month. It cost me £35.5K and sold for £31k. I did 7.5K miles as it was a weekend car.

I make that £250 per month depreciation, which was pretty good - much better than anything else new at the price.

I suspect there may be some discounts on the run out model, I dont think the new model price is known as yet so its very difficult to know whether to hang on for what will be a better car - or take the current model.

For what its worth there are some colours that are limited run, I had a comp orange with a factory black roof, some others had guard green - I suspect longer term the limited edition colours will hold their value better.

Yellow with a black stripe will hold its value. Grabber blue as well.

On a serious note, on a lot forums EB’s are not doing that much harder better than V8’s for economy and sometimes when cruising the V8 is better - of course if you give it the beans then it’s a different story.

Real world my anecdotal observed difference is maybe only 4 or 5 mpg difference on average and certainly not enough cost saving to justify knowing you could have had the V8

Autotrade showing Ford dealers selling 67 plate delivery mileage cars at £36k. Others asking similar money for 16 plate cars with 10k miles.

Suspect this is a limited supply / demand satisfied situation where normal depreciation rules will start to apply. Which, if you think about it, is to be expected and is entirely normal. A nice 5 year old Mustang in 2020 should be about £15 - £18k.

I paid £36,900 for my manual pre-reg 17 convertible with 25 miles on the clock just before Christmas, it has shaker, rear sensors and heated/cooled seats.

Mines up for sale on autotrader, eBay and gumtree for just over £29k which I think is a fair price so i’ll Update this thread with what it goes for as a comparison. 16 plate 5.0 litre race red with 18k on the clock.

Mustang prices are odd.

Take a BMW M4. 67 plate cars with nominal mileage are around £62k. 16 plate cars with 15,000 miles are around £42k. A third less. All retail. Pretty normal.

67 plate Mustangs with nominal mileage are around £36k. Relative to M4 prices, a 16 plate with 15,000 miles would be £24k retail. Maybe £22k private. Which would still be only a drop of around a third against the original new price - and would still be pretty low depreciation.

If M4's were 36k new then I suspect they would have similar residuals to the Mustang, simply put the mustang is a bit of a bargain and there isnt oversupply.

I understand what you are saying but if the choice was a 2 year old, 15k mile, Sync 2 car with 12 months manufacturer warranywarranty remaining (private sale) at £30k or a nearly new, delivery mile, Sync 3 car with 30 months manufacturer warranty remaining from a Ford msin dealer for £36k surely you'd just put the extra £6k and buy that ? The 2 year old car would need to be a least £10k to £12k cheaper to make it attractive ?

I think the prices have dipped, put mine up today with £2k worth nice mods, fully loaded with custom pack and shaker pro, in a nice deep impact blue with only 3k miles on the clock. I looked at the prices and 6 months ago I could have slapped another £3k on the price. I've got it up at £31,995 so will see how it goes.

There are a lot more available now than 6 months ago,..

The price stories coming out of the US aren’t for nice reading for the 2018 with the right spec.

I’ve ordered a 2018 here in Oz and will find out price in next few months but increasingly looking like I’ll just get myself a 2017, 1 yr old, save $30k and spend some on supercharging it and some changes and still be $$$$ better off.
Whilst the salesman did say that he expected the 2018 to be dearer, surely not by anything like that much - they'd be shooting themselves in the foot surely?
if you knew how Ford work (my other half is a research engineer for them) you'd know they shoot themselves in the foot all the time in a multitude of ways.

Not sure if this will eventuate in the UK and more because i suspect we have a large supply but here in Oz the depreciation that was non existant for a while is now kicking in.

Theyre now offering new V8 GT Autos here for $58k drive away WITH 3 yrs free servicing and 2 years extra warranty when just a few months ago it was $62-65k and no offers. It also means even 2nd hand 2017s are at $43k in trade where before they were near $50k.

This has a lot of people annoyed that ford have killed the values a bit to clear stock before the 2018 arrives.

As an update, interest has been non existent even with some price drops to just under £29k. Am letting ads expire and will relist probably in March when it’s better weather and people are past January bills etc see if that makes a difference.

Interestingly we buy any car offer was around £26,800 which personally I think is still good I’m just holding out for more!

Is it a dechromed car with black wheels, or one of the many early cars in red with chrome round the windows and silver wheels?

Which of the options does it have (heated seats, reverse camera, shaker pro)?

Race red silver wheels and chrome surrounds (my choice on both as I hate black wheels).

Full custom pack and professionally fitted front parking sensors as well.

Relaxed and have plenty of time so am in no hurry just interesting to see the money they go for. TBH i’m Pretty pleased that Wbac is offering such relatively high cash for a two year old car with 18k.

Why would you sell having done only 3k miles?
