Reports on the gearbox please? And hurry up! Love the colour, very classy and understated
Previous car was a C class merc with the 7G+ gearbox, which is pretty excellent. Compared to that the 6 speed auto isn't quite as smooth at gentle levels of poke, and the change up points don't seem altogether logical. Seems better as you get more aggressive.I haven't really played around with the switchable settings, been rather damp for any serious playfulness. The box is also supposed to learn driving style, whatever that means, I don't know how quickly it learns.
That said, I wasn't particularly impressed with the manual box, it was a little too notchy and imprecise and the lever didn't really in quite the right place if you got the seat adjustment right in relation to pedals and steering.
Stick the auto in S rather than D and it gets interesting - no auto change, paddles only and the engine seems much more responsive and aggressive, even with the rest in normal mode.
So far, I'm reasonably happy with the auto. I'll see if it improves over a week or so.
You do get auto changes in ‘S’, until you do a paddle change then it’s locked into manual. The auto down shifts in ‘S’ have auto blipping, which is cool. Flick the lever into D and back to S and you have auto changes again, until you paddle shift again. S on the box and mode Sport+ is my favourite in the warm and dry. Transforms the car.

Every day is a school dayIf it ever stops raining I'll experiment (and read the manual...)
I've just picked up a 2018 Mustang as a hire car in Florida after the 430i I was given had a puncture; this was a blessing in disguise as I love Mustangs but they didn't have any when we arrived. I driven them every year for the last decade and the 2018 model looks/feels fantastic. I know the Ecoboost isn't the sought after model but for the kind of driving I do over here it feels plenty powerful enough. I'm really looking forward to driving it over the next week; it's only got 4k miles so feels like new.

41165 is the MY18 list price. Still, 8 grand in 3 years (and 3 grand over the outgoing model) is a lot but it's mostly caused by the GBPUSD droping from 1.7 since 2014.
This is probably why I was able to sell my GT for £30k after 2 years and 14,000 miles. New price was £34k as a couple of options were added.Ordered in 2015 and it arrived a year later. A bargain for so much car but I certainly wouldn't have considered it at £41k+.
Circumstances meant I had to sell it. I so wanted to keep it and still regret my decision.

Congratulations, very nice indeed , love the colour , I'm seriously tempted by the discounts and 0% finance offers , at the moment I have 4 cars which are all paid for so they'd have to go to get a mustang but I'm not sure if I want to go back to £300 a month leaving my bank account. The upside would be I'd have the cash to settle the finance in 3 years if I sold them all
