So in essence they want £200 to fit it! Daylight robbery. Is this your supplying dealer for the car? Shameful attitude.

Yeah, the supplying dealer, as you guys know we're not spoilt for choice, if it doesn't affect warranty etc, i'd fit
it myself as it's a twenty minute job, from the pics of UK engines I can see the rear steel brace is already in place.

Fit it yourself. I cannot see any way that Ford could void any part of their warranty as it is a Ford OEM part anyway and only requires 6 bolts to be undone, brace fitted and bolts done up again. Better that than let those Swansea Cowboys lighten your wallet.

I do not believe in fairies. I also do not believe that my Mustang Bullitt will “appreciate” during my projected 5 years or so of ownership at the very least. (Bought it very much as a keeper). I do believe it will depreciate. But that it might, I say might do so slightly slower than a standard GT....but only slightly.

In any event, I actually don’t care, because I bought it to enjoy it, use it and smile a lot. (He says after only having covered about 630 miles since delivery nearly 4 weeks ago,) I will be using it, I promise and to be fair, it was away from me for a week having PPF installed. smile

I’ve had a Magno Mercedes AMG GTR PPF’d in Xpel film in the past but certainly won’t bother with having the Mustang done as it’s very high and not so prone to stone chips. If it does get chipped no problem as having the front painted wont be an issue! Also nobody knows yet how that PPF will be in five or six years time!!
If it does appreciate then happy days, but my money is on depreciation for the time being..the curve may turn upwards but I reckon it will be some years away..net effect may be a lesser amount of depreciation than the norm..but, this was not part of my buying consideration.

I did ponder getting PPF or not getting it. In the end, I went for it, because the front IMO is asking for chips, with the more dropped nose than the previous version and those angled blades under the headlights on the front valance - for example. i went for Full Front, Sills including Doors, Door Mirrors, A Pillars, Rear arches, front and back of wheel...basically everywhere but the boot lid and roof. Figure it is protecting the car more effectively than Ceramic etc etc and as I want to keep it for a long time, amortised over 5 years the cost was reasonable. (I did take the Ford Extended Waranty package up to 5 years and 100k miles too!).

The PPF comes with a 10 Year Gurantee, so I expect it to be fine after 5 years or so...

Does the exhaust note sound just awesome ? That's the main thing I'm waiting live with .
It certainly does. There are a number of settings you can select, as it is active. Mostly I have it Sport or Track, but normal and some weird setting called Quiet also exists! Unlike the MY15-17, there is IMO no need to go the aftermarket route, esp. with the Bullitt which carries a more “tweaked” Exhaust note anyway.

I see the 58k bullitt on autotrader has gone and a new 60k one is on offer, one of the ones on sale did have a bullitt strut brace fitted.
Are you guys have to run the engine in for the first 1000 miles?
I did run in for first 1000 or so. Revs up to 4K only, mixed driving, no lugging engine etc etc. Just done oil and filter change and now starting to play!

No “official” running in or initial oil change requirement as far as I know.

So far really pleased with my Bullitt, had to have a weird dent taken out of the bonnet, looked like it had been propped up by something through the support hole?
She drives like a dream, almost run in but so smooth it's getting harder to keep the revs down now.
Having listened to comments about wheel spacers I bought myself a set of 25mm hub centics from CJ Pony, but tried one and decided it was a bit extreme for me, so just the sequential rear indicators from standard,
Glad I upgraded from my 16 plate GT, without a doubt, so many improvements, from headlamps, gearbox, power delivery, clutch, Recaro seats etc.
You cannot put Spacers on Magneride equipped cars. They are not compatible.

You can put spacers on a MagneRide equipped Mustang. The studs are longer as they use the GT350 type hubs so you need to cut more off the OE studs if you're using bolt on spacers but it can be done (we've done a couple already).
Ok, that’s good to know thank you, David. I had read about the incompatibility but there was no detail as to why. Assumed it was more in depth than just stud length.

There are people still waiting for their MY18 Bullitts that may still be waiting in 2020! wink

Seems odd that there will even be a MY20 Bullitt. Ford tend to make them for every 10 year anniversary of the film, starting in 1998 for 30 years, then 2008 and of course 2018.

This may be the proverbial unicorn, I suspect.

But ceramic coating does not protect the paint from stone chips.

Only PPF will do that and even then, larger stones at speed will penetrate it.

I personally prefer ceramic. You can always respray a bumper later from chips.

PPF has to be applied in a certain way and needs to be replaced every few years anyway, and sometimes when you remove it the paint comes with it.

I have a ceramicccoat on my current car and it's excellent.
Think you need to bring yourself up to date with regards to PPF.

Not sure what you mean by “has to be applied in a certain way”. Of course it does, but so do ceramic products.

Most PPF products now carry 10 year guarantees.

If it is applied correctly or “In this certain way”, and if removed “in a certain way” you won’t lose any paint.

Ceramic is good for easy maintenance washes and general dirt and grime repelling.

Bored of the incessant rust/underseal paranoia. More to life....like driving these cars and enjoying them, rather than whittering on about this and that. If it bothers you that much, buy a Eurobox. I have yet to see a rotten modern Mustang from SN95 onwards.

All Bullitt owners using premium unleaded?
I do and specifically Shell V Power or Tesco Momentum whenever possible.

Run all our cars that way, apart from Herby the Shopping Trolley. Herbs just gets normal unleaded....

Oh, the number plate is also very appealing to my childish sense of humour...
