So then, it's about time to bump the thread! How's the car doing, as the weather is good and roads are empty...?
Some mileage done and made yourself comfortable with your car?
We had two days over the Christmas break where it wasn't pissing it down, so yes, I went out twice. Once was for a slightly longer trip to visit my daughter in Köln, including a bit of unrestricted Autobahn.
I LOVE the car, I LOVE the sound, but bloody nora you don't half notice that the build quality can't be compared to my S6. At anything over 220km/h the bonnet wobbles, I mean really wobbles, and the wind noise from the wing mirror and the drivers window really is something to behold.
Luckily Mrs A was asleep or she may have got a little concerned when it was still pulling like a train at 270km/h. That surprised me actually as I thought it was supposed to be limited.
Next time I go for a high speed run I'm wearing earplugs!
Still love the thing though.
Oh and the underseal thing.
I had it up on a ramp the other week to get new pads and disks put on. There is 'some' underseal, but it's certainly not ideal and looks like it was put on by an angry blind epileptic having a bad day.
Mine's a 2017 model and we already found some surface rust. My mechanic said that was typical. In the spring he's going to brush it all off and treat it. He's then going to do it once a year to stay on top of it and make sure it's always clean underneath.

Bonnet ‘flutter’ alarmed me at first… the pre-facelift was worse for it than the newer cars, especially along the back edge nearer the windscreen. Guess that’s one of the things they ironed out with the facelift.
But I also have a 66 Mustang, and that properly moves about at 70mph, so I guess it’s a hereditary Mustang thing!
Mine took pulled well through 160mph with no evidence of a limiter! I backed off then though as was on all season tyres which weren’t high rated.
Have taken my facelift one on Michelin’s up beyond 160mph, it’s very stable providing there are no cross winds.

Well, about time to bump the thread.
After selling the black 17 GT, I'm eagerly preparing the ultra-brite 94, so it's almost ready to hit the streets. After a suspension redo and correcting the ride height back to stock, installing a new cat-back exhaust, and some servicing, now it's just the little things like detailing the skin and a little interior TLC. Finishes off quite well...
Surprisingly after closer inspection the underside was pretty solid, no signs of rust, even without any underseal for almost 30 years. Only the axles had some surface rust, amazing.

And the best view in my opinion
Exhaust tips still have to be angle cut, to get the stock look
What was planned as a complete technical overhaul turned out to be just a mostly cosmetic once-over, as I completely misjudged the difference between the 87 - 93 Fox engines and the 94 - 95 ones... the engine parts (heads, intake) are not interchangeable as I first thought, and to get hold of fitting parts from other Ford models is complicated and hugely expensive when one is not US-based. A reason more to go for a nice Fox, but prices have risen substantially again... this ship has clearly sailed, as I'm not willing to part with 20k for a nice one, as they are really not worth that. Shame really.

Owned since 15/10/19
18 plate, bought with just 1085 miles so about as near as brand new as I'm ever going to get!
A very different car to the Boxster S it replaced but I am loving it so far. It looks incredible and the interior is a surprisingly nice place to sit... Oh, and that engine
My Mustang is officially up for sale and listed in the PH Classifieds if anyone is interested. 18 plate, bought with just 1085 miles so about as near as brand new as I'm ever going to get!

She'll be sorely missed but I've got a hankering for a Morgan Three Wheeler.
I haven't been on PH for ages as Mrs A had two slipped discs and needed an operation so I've been running around in a pinny for the last few months hoovering, picking up dog st, ironing, washing, etc etc etc. whilst she recovers on the couch.
Managed to get a few nice shots of the Mustang though, in between being a housewife.
