So what is the oil cooler situation?

Resolved or not?

Any links to show if it is or isn't? You hear conflicting information everywhere...

Can I buy an extended Warranty at any point before the existing warranty expires?
There was an issue on pre July 2016 cars that was subject to a TSB (available here if you are so inclined https://ford.oemdtc.com/2604/oil-leak-from-engine-...

My own car has 29K on the clock, is a October 2016 build and has been absolutely fine. Generally speaking, there's a small set of posters who are blowing the issue out of proportion.

Yes, in reality it's very rare. If you're really worried you could always upgrade it to an aftermarket one.

Why can't you fit headers and still pass an mot on a facelift Mustang?
Ive never heard of the coolant problem either... I'd better read up on that as my brother has a 2016 GT, thanks for the info.

John
I suspect it's to do with particulate filters which are on the facelift cars and tend to be fitted close to the engine.

This is presuming a GPF will be treated the same as a DPF and removing it results in an MOT fail, which in my opinion it should.

While im here, does anybody know how you tell the difference between sync 2 and sync 3 cars from the outside. I thought I read somewhere there was something that distinguished the two.. maybe an aerial type thing

Sync3 cars have a dimple on the roof, apart from the interior display, that’s the only exterior difference. Some enterprising folk have retrofitted Sync2 cars, but they are pretty uncommon.

I upgraded my Sync2 unit to Sync3, it was pretty easy. Sync2 looks better but has less features and runs on a Microsoft operating system, Sync3 is Linux based, looks more basic but has a lot more features.

2015+
A lot cheaper ~ £36k new
Only had Sat Nav, heated/cooled seats and Shaker Pro audio system as options
Early models only had Sync2
Stock 415bhp @ 6500rpm, 391lb ft @ 4250rpm

2018+
More expensive ~ £44k new
A lot more options - spoilers, seats, stripes, wheels, MagneRide suspension etc
Increased engine size from 4,951 cc to 5,038 cc
Port & direct injection
Active quad exhaust
New manifold, similar spec increase to the GT350
The 6R80 auto transmission was replaced by the 10R80
The MT82 manual transmission was updated to MT82-D4
Rev matching
Digital dash
Added GPF to EU models restricts performance mods
Stock 444bhp @ 7000rpm, 393lb ft @ 4600rpm
