Yes. Try www.mocgb.net/forums/index.php. There are a number of Saleens about and I'm sure one of them is an Extreme. It may even be on this forum...it's easy to get confused. There are a lot of new Mustang owners about and more and more seem to be supercharged and modified. I'd look it up myself but I'm working....honest!

Thanks LuS1fer, you've been a massive help and I appreciate it

....Having said that, I found that the Roush parts were very competitive on price with importing your own stuff and as EVO showed, a good choice in the handling department. However, all stock Mustang GTs are tuned for US roads and are way too soft and that's why I bought Tokico adjustables (before I read the EVO Roush report). My main gripe with Roush was their fitting charges which to someone as mean as me were high when I can do it myself but probably average for that sort of thing.

After lots of research I came to the same conclusions. My '07 is already lined up for a plethora of parts - but I'm a great believer in the adage that to make a car faster, first make it stop and corner quicker!

eBay can be a good source and some other bits are already readily available over here at a fair price (Roush as luS1fer already said). That said, there are few suppliers stateside that are happy to send stuff over. Shipping can vary hugely - but most parts are pretty heavy and of course, the lovely duty that you pay (unless you can get the suppliers to play ball )

To that ends, I've ended up with the following collection of upgrade parts (but no car hehe):

Tokico D-Spec dampers
Roush front/rear springs (they have the 'right' rate and amount of lowering for me - about 3/4 to 1 inch)
Roush front/rear rollbars (lots of choice and I almost went for BMR - but well, the Roush ones are blue hehe )
Roush brake upgrade (but am holding fire for the time being as the stock items are pretty good by all accounts)

BMR adjustable panhard rod (to re-centre the axle after lowering on the Roush springs)
BMR panhard rod brace (beefier than stock and I decided to go all BMR pretty much for the stiffening bits)
BMR adjustable lower control arms (to correct fore/aft axle position after lowering)
BMR lower control arm brackets (to correct the rollcenter after lowering)
BMR strut brace (not required by any means, but I was going to strengthen the bottom with the CHE brace, so I thought it best to do the top too)
BMR A-arms (these were rather extravagent - but I though in for a penny and the rear was going to be all BMR)
BMR camber adjustment bolts

- decided against the BMR K-member (tempting for weight reduction - ironic given strut brace addition!) as I though the engine mounts would be rather too harsh. Again, perhaps ironic given that everything else on the suspension will be replaced with a poly or rod end.

CHE 4 point A-arm brace and torque limiters (these stop the torque twist under hard acceleration that can make gear selection hard between 2nd and 3rd)

Steeda Tri-Ax quick shifter

SLP Loudmouths (ok - nothing to do with the handling, but it will 'sound' faster

C&L cold air intake & litchfield custom tune (under review whilst I decide whether it will be money wasted before going to supercharger)

So as you can see, I've well and truly got the modding bug and my house is starting to look like a Fedex depot! The car isn't a daily driver and I will track it from time to time, so I guess it will bit a bit stiffer than is perhaps ideal for our roads. I'll keep all the stock parts to revert to stock should I sell it though (that said I can't see why I'd want to short of them bringing out a RHD version!)

I'm fortunate that I've got the use of a workshop to fit all the bits, along with the kit to set it up (a legacy from my car building and racing days).

Some of these things are definitely a bit extravagent and the costs can spiral quickly (I'll still be well under 30k though and that's after importing a brand new car via a specialist importer, 2 year warranty, 12 months tax etc. - final spec. will be well beyond Roush or Saleen for far less money) but the Mustang has quite large shoes to fill given some of my previous 'toys'.

Once all these things are done, I'll start thinking about superchargers again!

It's worth it though, because it's my passion

I have got a 05 with a full Roush handling kit but with a Votech HO charger pushing out circa 470bhp.

I took it up to PowerStation the other week and they put it on the dyno.
They then mapped my figures to a Saleen belonging to a friend of there’s. Now it had been played with and was pushing out in excess of 520bhp but the torque figures on the Saleen compared to mine were phenomenal.

When I asked them how I could get those kinds of figures they smiled and said sell your charger kit you have got and buy a twin screw one (as in the saleen) – cheeky buggers.

As I have shown on many occasions, I know bugger all about how all this stuff works but….

From the figures I was shown the Saleen does look bloody impressive.

Hi there

Thats my car!
If you want torque especially low down then you need a twin-screw blower. I installed mine myself and on Powerstation rollers it made 532BHP and 510Lb-Ft torque with perfect fuelling.

Love my Roush. I've not been able to compare it with any others yet, but from what I understand, the 415bhp is all pretty much low-down the range compared to some of the other 'charged 'Stangs.
As has been said by others, what-ever you buy is pretty much a starting point. Mine had the 'charger and engine mapping. I've since added the lowered springs and will be fitting some Tokico struts as the next upgrade.

It's probably worth giving these guys a call.....

James posts on here as AtlanticVipers. I know that they've supplied Roush and Saleens, so should be able to give you good advice.

Atlantic have a supercharged Roush in the showroom. I have driven it, and it's a world apart from the standard GT. We will be having our Gt "Roushed" shortly. James is the man to speak to as he ahs a fantastic working knowledgeof the cars. When I drove it we had a "Fast and Furious " moment. Two Stangs pull up next to an Evo 8 and an Impreza Turbo at some lights- both Jap cars all stickered up. Pleased to say we acquitted ourselves well......

Hi there

The Saleen and Roush cars handle a lot better than the GT500. Plus a supercharged 4.6l V8 weighs a lot less, makes similar power and is hence quicker and better handling. Plus the current GT500 prices are nothing short of a joke, in 12 months they will depreciate like a bomb.

As it stands, I like the styling of the Saleen (and the twin screw SC) but am not keen on the fact you cannot get factory support on Saleens. As a side note, I contacted them directly and they are trying to set up a UK network and hope to have it up any running in the next few months (so perhaps my initial concern will be redundant).

I like the fact Roush can be reached in the UK and there is technical support and a warranty; however, the styling of them is a little too 'MaxPower' for my taste (all just mho).

The GT500 is silly money but if it was at Saleen money, I may be tempted just because it's a factory Shelby and I could make the car handle by installing some aftermarket suspension.

So really, at the moment I do not have a solution, which is okay as it will take me a few months to sort out my garage space... so perhaps petrol-karma is telling me to wait

Saleen have been looking into getting dealers over here for a few years now,and just to correct you.. you will have Saleen back up if anything should go wrong, I have already had to deal with them on an issue they posted me the replacement parts to be fitted,i then sent them the garage invoice for payment which they promptly mailed me back a cheque to cover my costs

Danny at Adrenaline Race and Rally has just started to import the Saleen supercharger kits that bolt onto a standard V8 Mustang.
Danny has set up a few friends cars for the drag strip so knows what he is talking about.
He seems to be importing a lot as he also offers turbo kits for the Stangs and Whipple blowers for Lightnings.

I think the addy is www.adrenaline-race.com

The GT500 weighs 470lbs more than a stock GT. That's the problem and suspension isn't the answer. It weighs too much so will never be as fast as a blown GT except by huge power gains.

Hi there

Is that a Saleen kit or the JDM kit?

I paid £3600 delivered for the JDM Kit. With there kit you get a lot more kit for the money plus a JDM tune which is one of the most important factors.
