The 2nd (Prime_Al's) and third cars are currently in build. Prime_Al's looks more or less completed and looks awesome with the orange/black interior! 3rd car has had the carbon shell completed and the team were working on the chassis.

They estimate that the third car will not be completed for another three months (due to the racing commitments) plus the supercharged engine and sequential gearbox are still being developed (or rather tweaked).

The first 5 cars are programmed into the production schedule, but thereafter it is pretty open. Key is to get the deposit down and the spec in (put my spec down yesterday)

Tony will be getting mine into the first 10 build slots but my May/June delivery looks very unlikely - even those in the know don't really know the projected build times of the first 5. At best I can see it being towards the end of the year.

No I think you're right - the first 3-5 builds could well be completed by May/June/July time.

It's just that I was hoping to have mine completed by then - however if I'm build 9 or 10, my likely completion date could well be 6 months later than that!

Sorry, my mistake! Mis-read your post.

I understand the person I was talking too, was high up on the list though... so that kinda fits.

I think once they get into the 3rd & 4th car they will start flying out with the T440,plus a lot of customers are pulling towards the Typhon which i cannot see being ready until next Winter as the engine is still at testing stage

Forgot the Digi Camera in the morning rush, but other than Prime_Al's Typhon not much to see. Was told that servicing of the T440R/Typhons could be carried out at official dealers.

These are from Friday 30 January. I was up in Blackpool for the TVR Motorsport end of season dinner and was shown round by one of the race dept after everyone had gone home. We had arranged the tour for V8tvr, but unfortunately he was unavoidably delayed. Still, we had a good poke round the factory again on Saturday morning in the rain when we returned our 2003 race engines, and had a chat with the engine development guys (who were more interested in tanks and Land Rovers by the way)

The bare chassis is a race car.

Lets hope these are visible............!

Glad you enjoyed the trip up PP(and glad you like my cars interior colour scheme too ! - what have you gone for spec wise ?). Latest eta on mine is now end of March having spoken to Simon on Tuesday. The s/c engine needs 3-4 weeks in-situ cooling testing and they'd prefer to do that in the factory car where they can make any mods without worrying too much about messing up my cars immaculate finish (makes sense sadly..).

Meanwhile I've been deep into gearbox ratios (thanks to Gavin's helpful info) and calculating gearing mph/thou etc .. TVR are probably going to have two different final drives attached to the sequential box the first 3.73:1 (giving just over 27mph/thou in 6th - i.e the Tuscan / Tamora final drive ) and the second 3.45:1 (giving just over 29mph/thou in 6th - i.e my old Cerbie 4.5 & 4.2 final drives). The higher drive will give great acceleration as 1-4 in the sequential are a tighter version of 1-3 in a Tuscan with 4 & 5th in the Tuscan being the same as 5th and 6th in the sequential box. This will suit a T440R but the Typhons s/c engines lower rev limit and incredible grunt will better suit a lower final drive to ensure it sails through 200mph with ease. T440R's 4.2 AJP6 rev limit is around 8500rpm, Typhon's s/c 4.0 around 7500rpm by the way.

Bottom line: another potential spec option to consider ..

Must admit I wasn't sure how the chameleon orange would work on the car but it did look . The two-tone interior and the harnesses really finishes off the car - as a matter of fact quite a few touches influenced my final spec!

I've gone for the Spectraflair black finish which is the same as the '92 motorshow T440R, i.e dark grey/copper finish which is a bit controversial but I thought was different, yet understated. Interior will be saddle/biscuit leather with oatmeal carpet and the top of the dash in saddle alcantara. I've gone for the 19" wheels, back seats and harness options - just left out the big brake package.

all i can say is having waited a long time for mine i have no regrets. they are just the best thing ever. On the gear ratios, my 440 (with the standard 5 speed) does over 130mph in third (before the red change light) and pulls 95mph @around 3400rpm making the 215 mph top speed within the rev range. hope this is helpful.

Should look classy and yet have a strong race flair too .. very nice ! Looking forward to seeing and photographing a collection of these when we eventually get a few of them together.

Nice...

I always thought of that with a subtle red or orange reflex running through it... Would look like it's burning slightly!

Hope you went for the 19s!

Myonly problem with the spiders is, admittedly from the pics, they look too small and tyres too high a profile compared to the car.

I admit I haven't seen them in the flesh on a Typhon but yes, I do love the spider design too! I have them on the Cerbie!
