I'd definitely nip into a Game store, given the chance. Check their website first in case they're not selling it yet...

Could only get one to work. She is also desperately trying to get me to buy MW3 or BF3 as she wants to sit and watch me play them.

Youre a brave, brave chap.

Now stop tossing money away on games, the poor girl is having to make her own clothes for god's sake.

Right, im glad theres a skyrim thread, id like to know impressions of it so far.

I ask this as im starting to feel a bit old for games but really enjoyed fable 2 and 3. I want something to play over the winter period but im not sure about skyrim. It looks a bit "pc" for me and i'm also concerned there might be too much complexity to the setup of weapons, armour, spells and so on. Can anyone comment either way?

Ok. So being in Oz and our timezone being ahead of the rest helps sometimes. EB games broke curfew or whatever and sold it last night. They sold out pretty quick.

So I have spent about 6 hours playing before having to go to sleep because of work. I am a Nord and not a filthy foreigner. I havent had any glitches so far and all I can say is that it is amazing. I havent mucked around fighting dragons yet. I am just doing odd jobs such as mining at the moment. Its wonderful to just walk around and see what is what. The place is massive. It makes Oblivions graphics look like Atari's "Adventure".

Fingers crossed it is raining this weekend so I have an excuse to stay in and play.

rsv gone!

The map is so large its actually difficult getting around as you tend to underestimate the scale of the place. Slowly working my way into the game though!

If I'm new to these types of games will I enjoy this? Played Oblivion for a.couple of hours 5 years ago, didn't really get in to it. Do I have to play Oblivion to understand this or is it an entirely new story?

good question, I'm in the same boat...loved Fallout 3 and that type of thing so I'm picking this up tomorrow.

will let you know how I get on with it.

I played Oblivion for ages but had no idea about the plot or storylines really. I just like open ended games where you can faff about doing nothing at all.

This one is already more of the same for me. I really want to get into the story line but I am not interested. There is more than enough interest in the plebs gossip and side quests to keep my interest.

I found fallout 3 to be rather linear compared to oblivion.
