Wait until you realise the 'rubber band' racing.
Spin?, don't worry, all the other cars will spend the next 2 miles doing 1 mph until you catch them again. Utter toss.
Yet I'm playing forza 4 alot again
That was my next complaint! every race so far I seem to win in the last few corners!Spin?, don't worry, all the other cars will spend the next 2 miles doing 1 mph until you catch them again. Utter toss.

I can't believe anyone here plays it. Cartoon handling and silly lifestyle things going on. F4 is by far the better game, I don't think they should waste resource on Horizon.
I don't think they will have wasted much vs the income they have made. All the physics/cars are probably just direct ports so bar the tracks then they have made £££ on Horizon.
You start to feel a bit bitter against these developers when they just sell you such junk for so much money.

A lot of people n this thread have complained about rubbish driving physics in horizon. Are they not a direct port of the ones from Forza 4 ?
They just don't feel that different to me. Possibly softened off a bit to cope with the bumpier roads but I can drive things on Horizon so much better and with a more accurate feel than I can on any other open world game like need for speed, test drive etc.
If they are the same physics I wonder if people are being thrown off by the roads being a lot more open than most race tracks so people are carrying more speed around and just thinking that its more arcadey physics getting them around quicker.

From what I've seen and briefly experienced, the silly big wide smooth roads are what ruin most games like this. They just don't feel that different to me. Simply having a whole bunch of tracks that are more challenging (read realistic copies of real quality roads), might make the game much more appealing to non-arcade players.
You have to remember though, probably 50%+ of the buyers of this game probably can't even drive a car yet, and they like to use the 'behind' view etc etc...
It is a shame though that what feels to be missing is simply some good quality courses for drivers who want to appreciate more of a challenge.

That's what I've missed in Horizon as well, there are some twisty roads that are good fun (the run up the canyon roads to the east is the best example) and the terrain is great and varied but most roads are at least 4 cars wide and silky smooth - even off the tarmac. I loved the rally expansion because the dirt on the stages had just the right amount of distortion to it, feeling the car clawing along over the rough terrain.Simply having a whole bunch of tracks that are more challenging (read realistic copies of real quality roads), might make the game much more appealing to non-arcade players.

I'm not saying I want potholes, but narrower twistier roads hand in hand with some tweaks to the steering mechanics - it feels a little slow to respond at lower speeds, even on simulation steering - would make for great fun. Think the rally stages, but tarmaced. There were far too many wide open roads running for what feels like miles...
Just done a bit of digging and found that Horizon uses the Forza 4 physics engine with certain mods to optimise it for different surfaces that are in Horizon. Don't know if that means the physics on the whole are a bit different or just that it is able to give different settings when you are on different surfaces. So might even be that the physics for driving on the Tarmac in Horizon are a direct copy of Forza 4 ones.

Whee do you go to get the pictures that you have taken - can someone provide a link please. Thank you!
Same as FM4 you get them from forzamotorsport.net, there's a tab to switch to Horizon in 'My Forza'.I don't think the physics are all that bad, the cars certainly handle similarly to FM4, the game just got boring and had no incentive to keep playing. Once the single player was done that was it as the multiplayer was utter toss. An open world game you can only have 8 players in? Madness I say!
