Have you tried stopping your Xbox and starting again to get a new slot for download like James?

Anyone else found all 11 barriers to smash? One is very well hidden
If You mean the upgrade barriers then i Didn't find all 11.... But I did find all 12 (as did spetznas)
ooh man. I'll keep looking. I only found 11 I think. trouble is, as soon as you shut down you have to re-do everything which is frustrating. One of those was on a dead end bit.
really?
I thought the achievements unlocked counted towards the full game?

Absolutly st.

Without checking I can tell that the people from 'Dirt 2' had alot of influence on the game design. Very arcadey (is that a word?) Don't get me wrong, I love the Dirt series, but this is Forza.

Stupid annoying childish graphics everywhere with OTT commentators (in every menu, and every race, you can't escape from it). Forza is supposed to be a simulation game, which is what most of us (probably all of us on PH) played it for. The evo sounds st from the little bits you can hear of it. So to sum up:

* The AI is fking stupid. I recorded a video on my phone last night of one of the AI racers crashing into me (I was stationary!) then proceeded to reverse and ram into me about 20 times and couldn't get past!

* Cars stay clean and don't get dirty off road (why would you not include this?! Stupid.)

* Cockpit view is dissapointing, not as much detail, and you can hardly see any detail at all in the daylight

* You can't actually hear the cars engine/gearbox sounds hardly at all, which was the best bit of Forza 4.

* When you can hear the cars, they sound st.

* The cars feel and handling is too NFS.

* More that I can't remember

It just feels like they are trying to cater to a different croud, which in turn has made it a massive dissapointment, to me atleast. I'm glad I didn't pre-order and I won't be purchasing it. I'm only 40% through Forza 4 career anyway biggrin

I hope Forza 5 will carry on the proper tradition.

+1 Very disappoint.

Handling is awful, far too forgiving. Love FM3, FM4, GT5 and really enjoyed the burnout series in its time but this is neither. All menus ripped from Dirt 3. Did find the speed camera thing highly amusing but other than that it's just a bit kak. I even like the music, but i normally turn it off in favour of a V8/V10/V12 symphony.
I don't get the 'just drive the open road maaan' bit. When i want to 'just drive' on a racing game then I pick: Nordschleife, Radical and time trial = grins.

rolleyes

It has been a VERY DIFFERENT type of game to Forza 4 right from the initial concept.
It has always been aimed at a different type of gamer.

Think of it as TDU but better.

I do think you've missed the point somewhat, they're not trying to make it the next installment of Forza proper, they're simply trading on the name to enter the arcade marketplace occupied by the likes of Project Gotham and Need for Speed. Much like Codemasters are slapping the F1 name and license on the forthcoming F1 Race Stars, it's not going to be anything like the F1 game, but by using the name they've got an instantly recognisable product that they can then market to a different demographic without having to create a whole new brand from scratch.

On the bright side if this game appeals to the masses and sells by the bucket load T10 have more money to pile into developing future Motorsport releases. As long as they keep the Horizon and Motorsport games separate I'm happy.

Oh and I quite enjoyed the demo but I went in with a different mindset hoping for a new NFS:U2.

All assists off and it still feels like a crappy arcade game. It's like they took everything then know about handling and put it in the bin. Feels like a prettied up Test Drive Unlimited.

Oh, and no clutch, despite what the control settings say.

This, a far more polished TDU - online around those country roads will be great.

One thing it doesn't do, that TDU did quite well is to have random online drivers cruising around that you could challenge to ad-hoc races.

True, I chased down a few computer AI on the demo but couldn't challenge them - hopefully you will be able to challenge online opponents come the full game.

4 abreast down the mountain motorway section whilst avoiding traffic could be quite fun.....smokin

They've said you'll be able to have up to 8 of you online and you can all drive about, racing and so-on, provided you invite them (much like the lobby system in Forza 4). What TDU did well was to have other online players that weren't on your friends list appear in your game, a bit like an MMO where you'd come across strangers and could interact with them. Seems a bit of a missed opportunity, but maybe something they can do in the inevitable sequel.

Fixed.

Sadly not, Turn10 have confirmed there won't be one in the final game. The free roam is a lobby you enter with friends and you have to come out of your game to join it, so you won't even see friends driving around your game unless you actively join their session.

Oh well not a game breaker though, and should prevent the appalling servers and connection issues TDU was plagued with for the first three or four weeks.

There is a clutch - I was using it yesterday.

Options > Difficulty > Shifting > Manual with clutch. Same as forza 4. You can also swap the clutch/handbrake buttons over so that clutch is A.

I wasn't that impressed either but don't forget it's only a demo at the moment, they rarely give a proper feel for the finshed game. Does anyone remember FM4s demo? It was nothing like the finished product.

But I still think it's for kids and not the hardcore FM fans, you have to keep them interested with bright colours (pink and lime green ffs!), flashing lights and shaky cameras.

ETA, there is altogether far too much product placement and advertising in it, that's my main gripe with the game so far. Watches, clothes and all the latest "trendy" ste have a billboard placed somewhere you can't smash it.

Not calling you out on this Steve...I'm sure I saw it mentioned (and shown) on one of the many Youtube vids posted that you can come across other players in a free drive/roam scenario and challenge them to a race!
