Thats good then, really hope as said by many its what test drive unlimited should have been! Maybe one thing I hate is how its always USA set. Its been done before, but then again, playing safe.
TDU2 was Ibiza wasn't it?

The biggest market is the USA for this so it sort of makes sense. Also it'd be difficult to find the variety of landscape elsewhere - Colorado any time of year goes from Desert to Snow within about 100 miles, has mountains, plains, forests, Interstate highways and backwoods dirt tracks.

Looks like we may just get to do Pikes Peak too.

It's pretty obvious that Forza 4 is the last proper Forza game until the new Xbox is out, and it still is being constantly updated. The way I see it is we have FM4 for proper racing, this should hopefully be a good mix between Forza and PGR, i.e a mix between arcade and realistic physics, because FM4 physics would be no good for a game like this. Also I'm not so sure the actual game will look like the trailer. The software will be getting on for 8 to 9 years old when Horizon is launched. I'm not expecting anything near the size of Test Drive Unlimited 2, but I'm sure Forza will make it a better experience than that mess of a game.

I don't see why Forza's physics would be no good for this, realistic handling is just as much fun. Regarding the trailer, I recall the Forza 4 trailer was a daft jumpy spinny mess and that turned out ok, hope they just feel they have to make it like that for ADHD's.

It's going to hinge on the physics for me.

If they put in the full model from Forza 4... unbelievable. It's the only thing I've felt missing from that game; the ability to take the cars out on proper open roads, dart past traffic, open them up on a quiet stretch, trundle slowly through towns. Will I feel a bit of a dick sitting there behind the computer wheel and pedals "going for a drive" when there's a perfectly good car sitting outside? Probably. Will I be having enough fun to not care? Absolutely!

(I'll even forgive them the contrived festival idea and the smashing up stuff minigames if they get the handling right.)

If they don't... then meh. It'll be a dull TDU me-too, a game which could have been great but was ruined by the driving around between events being so utterly unrewarding and dull; it was more fun to go for a long drive in GTA4 or Just Cause 2!

Me too. Looks like they're going for the Need for Speed crowd, i.e. sales over substance, which you can't really blame them for doing.

Personally I think they should leave this type of game to Need For Speed, Test Drive Unlimited, Midnight Club, and stick to race tracks for Forza. As long as they upgrade Forza 4 regularly i won't care too much.

I take back what I said. Graphically that looks great in motion. Stuff like the plane brings it to life. thumbup

I don't know wether to be excited or not, this is either going to be the best game yet or a huge flop.

Yup. If it drives like Forza 4 it'll be amazing just cruising around.

I hope to god they stick to the Forza physics, if they start going all arcadey it won't be a Forza game to me! I wish it would be like TDU but with Forza graphics and cars, but from seeing the trailer with cars ramming each other off the road I'm deeply concerned.

Now I'm waiting to see the "nitro button" or "bullet time" function to be implemented or something.

The handling looks arcadey frown They may be trying to earn the need for speed players cash and attention but this could ruin forza ...

They did say in one of those videos that it's a new developer, so that will probably affect the physics. The whole thing looks very Need for Speedy.

Its a colaboration between Turn10 and Playground games though isn't it? I doubt they would chuck out the already decent Forza physics, and use Playground's brand new, probably rubbish physics engine..

The trailer doesn't look very "Forza", not feeling this game so far. it look's like one of those games you get bored of after a couple of days(Like new NFS's).

I have faith. They know it's the handling physics that has made Forza the best racing game, even after EA's valiant attemps with Shift/2. I don't think they'll junk those, I think it will be Forza 4 on the road.

Whats all this about whether it's Forza car physics or not... This is from the Forza website

"As you light out toward the festival at the end of the pack, you will immediately feel the familiar Forza physics translating your intense burnout to your hands."

http://forzamotorsport.net/en-us/Hit_the_Open_Road...

That'll do me, 'Familiar Forza physics'
