Had some games on the new maps last night. Very COD in terms of pace, will be interesting to see how they settle down. The graphics on one of the maps were stunning, just didn't have time to properly appreciate them with all of the mayhem. Only 16 players per map so not sure what happens when you are in a sequence with the main maps and you have more players.
Arrrgh, can't get premium for another fortnight, by which point cqb will be out for everyone...TheHangingJudge said:

What are the new game types - GM, Conquest Domination? etc.
I only had Conquest Domination, that might be it, but I am not sure. When I was on no servers came up on Rush though.youngsyr said:

Sounds fun, apart from the knifing bit. I am rubbish at getting melee kills.
sounds like gun game out of black ops wonder if knifing someone will put them down one rank PeanutHead said:
Have had a couple of decent games recently with VEA/shamblez but suffered tonight and couldn't even fire a gun straight.
I'm definitely getting there now, has taken me ages to get used to the controller and not using a mouse. Enjoying it more and more, have to say though at the moment I prefer the games with fewer players on it.All of the noobs seem to have disappeared from the PS3 servers over the past couple of days?
I was used to racking up sniper kills on Gulf of Oman with noob snipers placing themsevles where they can be seen from anywhere on the map, so thought the sniper assignments would be a piece of cake, but they were nowhere to be seen.

maybe they just finally learned not to sit in the open i prefer to be an aggressive sniper as it pisses people off I was used to racking up sniper kills on Gulf of Oman with noob snipers placing themsevles where they can be seen from anywhere on the map, so thought the sniper assignments would be a piece of cake, but they were nowhere to be seen.

Obvious sniper positions (tops of buildings/cranes/etc.) are death traps, much better to be hidden in a spot that (a) cannot be seen from everywhere on the map and (b) isn't easily identifiable on the kill cam.My personal preference is to hide in buildings near/in an objective with a motion sensor nearby and an automatic pistol to hand. You can take your long shots as required, defend the objective against lone wolves or wait until an enemy squad move on to take it back immediately. When the inevitable assault/support guy comes in for an easy revenge kill against a "soft" sniper that just took them out at range, you hide around a corner, jump out and give them 21 pistol rounds in the face.
The pistol medal dog tag is pretty cool too.
im pretty bad at shooting on the PS3 in general, but the other night I confirmed why I havent touched the recon class since I got the game. I am awful!
On Gulf of Oman the other night, our squad had a beacon in one of the towers and we were javelining it up with a SOFLAM. Then we start getting picked off by this sniper whos hiding on the roof top of the hotel with the pool at the bottom. I thought, being a casual game and with lots of tickets that I had time to have a go with the recon kit and try snipe him back.
6 deaths later, I hadn't hit him once.
Wasnt too bright though, because he was still there 5 minutes later when I eventually climbed the ladder and stuck a knife in his face. I know its tempting to hang on to a good thing, but with the kill cam you have to assume that the guy you just killed now knows where you are and therefore its probably best if you move on.

I too like sniping from cover. There are so many places that you can lurk waiting for a troop to come through. When i place my soflam i like to cover it from a remote position and kill anybody who comes to destroy it. Had a few kills like that. Can imagine the look on their face, wondering wtf happened.
