Recently went back to BOPS 1 having got fed up with the maps in MW3 not being used to there best ie tunnels, climbing, different altitude levels etc, really looking forward to BOPS2, hope they still include some of my fave weapons, crossbow, over and under and of course the Python with ACOG.

Where to go for the series, well I would love to see a Call of Duty Boot Hill, what Red Dead could have been but wasn't. Lose the free roam but create some great towns and locations. And of course great weapons, perks and killstreaks, imagine calling in a stampeed of wild horse or a gatling gun.

As for 'modern' versions maybe moving vehicles, eg a quad but also the ability to stop some kill streaks with a 'good' shot ie take out the machine gunner of a huey with a sniper round.

Regarding servers being down, haven't tried it today but Black Ops was down last night. MW3 was ok, but I kept being pulled into 100+ms lobbies with US parties. I'm hoping that becoming a lab rat for VMedia shortly will help all the latency and packet loss issues prior to Blops II landing.

I don't know if there's been an official statement regarding how online multiplayer will be hosted; I'm guessing it'll be the el cheapo route, but hopefully with a less severe compensation applied to good connections.

confused Does that mean the DLC is free too or just the use of the Elite website is free?

The DLC is now separate, there's a season pass for all the DLC, but all of the Elite features like the website and Elite challenges are now free. Highly unlikely that the season pass will get you early access to the maps either.

Cool smile I'm assuming we get the season pass through the Elite website or dash board. I'm also assuming none season pass members of the clan can now count towards Clan XP?

Bit crap - I liked early access.

Think you just download it via the XBL dashboard or PSN shop, it's not tied to Elite in any way as far as I'm aware, it's just a way of getting 25% off the DLC. Worth noting that one of the packs may just contain zombies maps, so questionable whether it's worth it if you're only playing the regular multiplayer. Clan-challenges should all be unaffected whether you've got the season pass or not, if you're in the clan then you're eligible for the challenges.

Yup, voucher codes expired frown Ordered BO2 for 39.97 from them though, still the cheapest!

I wouldn't pay £40 for it just yet, there will be another deal or 2 over the next week or so.

Said this in the PS3 thread also. I wasn't looking forward to this really as I've never really got on with Tryarch's versions BUT after watching a few multi player videos at the weekend it doesn't look that bad. It just looks like a MW4.

Tempted to download it on Steam now that I have a decent gaming rig again. COD4 on the PC was ace.

Don't think I'll bother with this one. It gets tiresome when tehre seems to be no real difference other than what the levels look like. The new Medal of Honour is looking a lot more appealing.

Really? Dry-shaving my testicles with a rusty knife looks a lot more appealing than MoH.

I tend to buy games for the sake of "buying" so I have them just incase, but I actually really want the new Black Ops, I havent yet ordered anything, but is there any way of assuring I get this on launch date, as no doubt it will be sold out in the shops on the day of launch.

What would be the best place/shop/website to get this now, a week before its due out. Previously I have always bought games from Argos, as I can reserve on day of launch, and it tends to be the place that gets ignored by most shoppers when it comes to "indemand" games, but that always comes with the drawback of paying alot more for the game than neccesary.

Any help or pointers in the right direction is much appreciated!

Normally I'd say order from SimplyGames, but they don't have the Nuketown pre-order bonus, so go with ShopTo instead. Although the chances of this selling out in the shops are minimal.
