I looked at the massacre stuff, normal missions are around 20 mil for 15 ships if you are allied. BUT for a wing mission they up the amount of targets to something like 70. OK if you have a few hours and the local bounties must rack up but I suspect you'd need a wing of 4 ships with 4 missions shared to mop up nicely.
I can't see the bigger numbers mentioned unless I'm missing something obvious.

I think the bigger numbers come from everyone in a wing holding their own stacked missions, but sharing one at a time. Due to wing kills being shared, they contribute towards the other stacked missions in the background, so you're in essence doing less work in total - as long as the contracts are offered by separate factions, but targeting the same bunch of people.

Realistically I think 200m per hour is more attainable in terms of what'll appear on mission boards, and general RNG instances.

As per Yamik's vid; https://youtu.be/VfMeGW42f0Q - sidenote, it could well have been changed in the 11 months since it was posted! thumbup

Janes Horizons in Arexe is your best bet. Home of the Silverbacks squadron they generally have all things banana.laugh

I'd be happy if Elite released the Panther Clipper exactly as shown in concept. Along with the Boa and all the other canon ships.

Frontier are stopping all console new content development for new Elite Dangerous.

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/console-upda...

David Braben said:
Greetings Commanders,

Elite Dangerous is a game close to my heart.

It’s no secret that Odyssey’s launch was less than ideal, including the need to split the PC/console player base to focus on a PC-only launch. Since Odyssey’s release in May 2021, we have worked tirelessly to improve the Odyssey experience on PC, and whilst we have made great progress there is still more to be done. We have been supporting the pre-Odyssey and post-Odyssey codebases since.

Over the last several months, we have been wrestling with the best way to move forward, and it is with a heavy heart we have decided to cancel all console development. We need to be able to move forward with the story of the game, and in order for us to do this we need to focus on a single codebase. Elite Dangerous will continue on console as it is now together with critical updates, but we will focus on new content updates on PC on the post-Odyssey codebase.

We appreciate this news is not what our console community were hoping for. This was not an easy decision to make, but it was made with the long-term future of Elite Dangerous in mind.

Edit: Damn my slow thumb typing!

Elite Dangerous is abandoning consoles both previous and current gen.

https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/t...

Considering the lack of effort on PC development too this gives me bad feelings about the overall future of ED.

I hope to be proved wrong by some spectacular announcements next week along with the (delayed) Odyssey update 11.

Thanks for posting that. Regardless of anything else, Frontier have put together a peerless and quite astonishingly beautiful galaxy simulator. It's been probably four years since I last strapped in and this makes me want to dive back in and plot a course for the middle of galaxy just to see what I can find.

They really have, I don't know how many thousands of screenshots are in my Elite folder but hardly a game session goes by without me hitting F10.

However, it is disappointing that with the colossal waits for the Odyssey expansion and other DLC that they have not yet implemented comets, or black hole accretion discs or proper black hole gravity lensing (only the skybox is lensed). Let alone heavy atmospheric planets and gas giant atmospheres.

I had this on PS4 back in 2017. I played with it for a good while and then stopped.
I decided to pick it up again for £5 from the store just to revisit it. Maybe chill out running a few missions.

I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get £5 of fun out of it regardless of its future.

Picked up Odyssey on sale and I must admit the Elite feet is kinda sucking me in.

Performance on my old Ryzen and RX580 is more than acceptable at 1440p with the FSR set to ultra.

Sneaking around settlements up to no good gives me strong Thief vibes and toasting scavengers from on high in my missile equipped iCourier is good fun.

I'm certain to get another hundred hours (and thousand screenshots) sunk into this game now.

Console profile transfers to PC from Frontier.

"Console Profile Transfers

We can now confirm that players will be able to copy their profiles from console to PC in light of Odyssey’s cancellation on Xbox and PlayStation. This process will be time limited and optional. We will provide a date for this process once it is confirmed.

The original profile will remain playable on console and the new PC profile will be a copy. Only one profile may be copied over per copy of the game. Please also be aware that this will be a one-time only process.

Elements that will be copied

Ships, suits, weapons, SRVs and SLFs
Including Cobra Mk IV if owned

Core progression (this includes…)
Inventory
Reputation
Navy Ranks
Permits
Codex Discoveries
Engineering progress
Guardian Tech Broker progress
NPC Crew progress
NPC Crew member names and appearances
Cosmetics
(Cosmetic items applied through the Livery (ships and Fleet Carriers) and Holo-Me will remain applied.)

Elements that won’t be copied
Commander name (The process will require a new name to be chosen if the original name is not available on PC.)
Squadron membership
Friends lists, Block lists and Private Groups
Current mission progress
ARX Balance - ARX balances cannot be transferred. We recommend that anyone who submits their account for the transfer process purchases any desired cosmetics beforehand. Any unspent ARX post-transfer will remain available on the original console profile.

Fleet Carriers and their contents

Fleet Carrier ownership cannot be transferred from one Commander to another. To players that wish to own a Fleet Carrier post-transfer we would advise the following:
Decommission your Fleet Carrier ahead of the transfer
Wait for the decommissioning to complete (two weeks).
Check that credits from the decommissioning have been returned.
Complete the profile transfer process
Re-purchase a Fleet Carrier on PC

Precise dates for the opening and close of this process will be announced closer to the time."

I think that's possibly as good as could be hoped for for the console players.

The "roadmap" release during the same livestream is very light on for detail but it least it pencils in updates out to #14 and a supposed wrap up of the whole Azimuth/Thargoid saga (maybe Thargoid ground compbat to finish?! maybe, no I should know better than to get my hopes up!)

Buur pit did a fun quick video this week.

I must admit I've been too busy to keep up with the whole Azimuth saga or do any of the related CGs.

Here's the summary https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/the-azimuth-...

The funnest fan theories I'd come across previously was that Salvation was an ancient Guardian AI which could maybe lead to Guardian AI tech becoming a third active NPC faction in ED. But then I remember the Gnosis and FDev's track record on delivering things at all like that.

Might drag myself away from elite feet adventures back into space to see how it all turns out.

I bought a HOTAS the other day and Elite Dangerous. The tutorial and the number of buttons on the HOTAS is blowing my mind. I need to just stick at it :-). Some of these pics on the youtube links are awesome. I will devote more time...

The Elite Dangerous community has an astounding number of useful tools.

https://www.edrefcard.info/ you can plug in your own bindings and print them or use someone else's with a similar Hotas.

For me I use combos for the most common functions and Steam overlay menus for everything else.
