The shop is still open in V3. They have a good supply of alloy based products.

Yes, what with the new higher maximum numbers you can have I thought I'd see if it was still available and abuse it. Plus the one thing I really need at the moment, grid resistors which despite being "very common" were typically difficult when I needed them. On a G3 power distributor level, loads of G4 & G5 just stuck at getting through G3.

Posts like this are the exact reason I haven't got into this game. Yes it's in English but damned if I understood any of it. biggrin

I spent a few hours lapping Davs hope on the weekend and not a single chemical manipulator dropped furious

I can see how the new material trader is a godsend to RNJ frustrated commanders.

After running around mat traders I managed to screw myself out of a G5 FSD by not realising I had to roll multiple G4s to access it, I'd assumed that G5 with Felicity Farseer would let me get a G5 FSD without any mucking about working up from G1 to G5 frown

I shall translate into proper english. smile

Just bought a new motor, lovely thing only 1 previous owner a little old lady who only used it to go to church on Sundays, unfortunately that meant she hadn't done any modifications to the power distributor. Now I had a load of materials that the engineers use to do such magic but I was missing some grid resistors that they need to engineer the power distributor at the 3rd grade of magic. I had plenty for the 4th and 5th grades but I couldn't use them without going through grade 3 first as per the new engineering system. So I visited the Co-Op at Dav's Hope and thus they were mine.

Shouldn't you just have gone on Gumtree (material trader) and swapped some of your G4 materials for G3?

I knew I could get grid resistors there without losing anything.

Its an NPC "shop" where you have to swap for extortionate rates if you are going up the rarity tree.

6:1 for going up a level. So its only worth doing if you have hundreds of lessers and need a couple for a specific blueprint.

Its handy if going down however, so farming G4 and G5 mats and you need a G3.. easily get 20 for the 1 G5.

Is there somewhere online that explains how that aspect of the game works? That all sounds alien to me (pun intended, I'll get my coat).

Welcome to Elite. Grind hours of time to slightly increase one number on a slightly bigger ship...

As a side note, anyone in the Wokingham area, the standard Elite FDev meet thing happens in April, details here and here.

Essentials

  • In the main hall, we will have Oculus Rift and Vive virtual reality experiences for you to try out. There will also be a number of commanders own gaming stations with Elite Dangerous and other games for you to play.
  • To help commanders break the ice there will be many other social games to try. These will include modern card and board games for you to enjoy. Or if you wish you can just sit and chat with other commanders over lunch or a beer.
  • We also have our Artemis Starship Bridge simulator for teams to enter and try and achieve the highest score against our very own Commander Zaphodbeeble.
  • You are also encouraged to bring your own PC kit should you want to demo hardware or games. Also if you have a board/card game you’d love to play please do bring them along.
  • Frontier will also be making an appearance in the form of Ed, Will and Paige

As long as they keep interesting "hot spots" like Davs Hope that have a story to them and can be easily reinstanced to get more stuff from I think it's ok. What I'm wary of is baring the soon (Friday patch3.03) to be nerfed rank fast tracks the Federal and imperial rank locked ships look totally out of reach to me.

Not that I should really mind, my things to do list before getting one of the "Big Three" is quite long. Sag A run, Thargoid sites, new Guardian mission maybe Beagle point and roaming the verse admiring all the shiney.

Really? Christ, I'm glad I finished up the last two ranks on Imperial (get nothing for Prince or King) with the better reputation rewards last week but I would never have done it the old way what with no reward at the end. Nothing, no ship (Cutter should be the end reward), no special module like you get in powerplay, not even a special ship decal, no incentive.

Did anyone do the CG?

I got into the top 50% with very little effort but didn't have enough play time this week to really push it but had found a good High RES 2 jumps away. Last time i looked top 50% will be just over 4 millcr so not too bad for the work put in.

CG area was about 11 jumps away from my recent homebase are around 89 Leonis. I'm going to play around with trading in the area where thCG as i found an ok route then going to look at mining materials for some engineering. Had heard about Dav's hope, going to invest in some COllection limpts as well as apparently they are quite good for materials from destroyed ships in HAZ RES as well ass the usual mining. ANy tips?

I generally don't bother with a CG when the top payouts are sub 10mil.

It's just not worth the schelp out to where ever it is in my trader and finding a relevant buy station.

Also this CG, the only pads were medium and there was no in system RES for the bounty hunting portion. That made that more hassle then it was worth too!

2 hours until the next CG releases, hoping its better this time around.

I am engineer grinding just now. Its annoying at times but the haz res limpit is good as you do 2 things in 1. Make sure you have plenty limpits as they seem to get destroyed easily.
