If anyone doesn't have it, either to play now or to get the enhanced version when it's released Humble Bundle is selling the Game of the Year version (includes all DLC) for £6.99 right now.

https://www.humblebundle.com/store/the-witcher-3-w...

You'll need a GoG account for that.

Apparently CDPR head Adam Kicinski said in some interview.

I have bought this for both PC and PS4 and have played for about 5 minutes.

I need to put some time into it to see if the hype was justified.

I bought Cyberpunk last week so my CDPR backlog is growing

You need to be ready for the grind that is the first 1-2 hours, while you work out the controls, get some gear, etc. I recall my first few hours in the Witcher 3 were annoying, but I pushed past the initial bit and found the rest of the game to be pretty damn amazing.

It remains the only game I’ve bought DLC for so I can spend more time in the world…

Ahh. OK.

I was following following some chick round a castle while she danced on stumps (or something).

I can manage a bit of (bump and) grind. Days Gone is one of my favorite games of recent times, that is a slow burner too.

Honestly, I’ve said before that it took me ages to get into 10 hours or more. It’s totally worth it though as the story opens up a bit more.

The first proper map is essentially a big tutorial so make the most of it and level up where you can. Oh and play the card game gwent, a lot. I didn’t and it can make things more tricky later on.

I’m on the final DLC now and am trying not to rush it…such a great game that I don’t want it to end.

And explore all the question marks before following the main quest, build up kit and level otherwise you may struggle with some of the fights. I nearly went mad trying to beat the BB in a fist-fight the first time I played it. This time (third play) I just built up all my exp and kit and hammered him.

My second favourite game ever after TLOU2. And such a bargain now. Hope the PS5 pack comes out soon.

Witcher 3 pissed me off pretty badly in the first 3 hours or so; there seemed to be an absurd difficulty spike.

I almost parked it. I’m so very pleased I didn’t.

Board/Card games. NOOO!

I'm getting flashbacks of playing Shogi in the Yakuza games. Shudder

Don’t worry - it’s very optional. I think I played a single game of Gwent, and that’s because the tutorial forced me to. biggrin

You can avoid the card game completely. I did.

I got very obsessive over Gwent. Was an excellent game by itself. Hence why they've released it as a standalone game too.

The regular game is currently £4.99 on Steam with the Game of the Year edition on sale at £6.99. I've got it on Xbox but visually it's a different league on the PC with my 3060 TI!

I picked up the GOTY edition for the same price over Christmas, just finished the main game storyline over the weekend and started on Hearts of Stone. 102 hours racked up before starting on the first DLC and I've still got quite a bit of unfinished stuff from the main game- side quests, contracts, Witcher gear treasure hunts. Not to mention plenty of unknown location markers. Possibly the best value £6.99 I've spent!

I like having it on PC for the performance / graphics, and I can still run it to the big TV downstairs via my old Steam Link box when I want to play it from the comfort of the sofa. Best of both worlds.
