There's definitely a Mac version, dunno about the machine spec needed for it though. The forums can be pretty helpful

if my Mac can't handle the game I bought the wrong Mac, and cheers for the heads up http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum.php
Yeah, just as Iv'e got back in to it again and nearly completed the tech tree in my current game. Been playing FAR and deadly re-entry so hopefully new aerodynamics stuff won't cause me too much trouble. Have really got the hang of docking in this game, the trick is to switch the camera to chase mode, control from your docking port, and set the docking port on the target vessel as the target. Then it's just a case of putting the prograde marker whichever side of the target marker you need to adjust.
Sounds like most of the mods I usually use (FAR, Kerbal Engineer, Procedural Farings, Deadly Re-entry) are all included or superseded now so I reckon I'll start off with a vanilla game for a change.
ETA: Looks like I might want to add Kerbal Engineer as it doesn't give anywhere near as good a display. Seems a bit trickier though, with the first two items researched, giving me some solid boosters, one of the 100+ thrust engines and a liquid fuel tank I still can't seem to make orbit

If you do a search on Youtube for KSP videos by a guy called Scott Manley, he's covered most things possible in KSP. Obviously most of the videos cover versions prior to the current release, and the aerodynamics in the new release have changed a lot, but you should get an idea of the basics.
Look up Scott Manley's videos on Youtube, obviously they'll be for previous versions that don't have a lot of the new features but they give you a good idea. Any specific questions there's a few of us on here can help with, and there's a fair bit of info on the official forum http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/

I just bought this today and boy is it difficult! Are there any decent tutorial/tips forums anyone can recommend?
1. Keep the rocket pointing towards the sky.2. If in doubt, More Boosters.
3. If still in doubt, More Struts.
4. ???
5. Profit!
We've all been playing this a while so jumping into the game at 1.0 will be a very different experience. Think about how the real-life space programs worked, and do that. Start small, set yourself basic targets, and work up. First thing to work out is how to get a Kerbal back down onto the ground without exploding them, and there are plenty of ways of doing that.
Have had a bit of a play in Sandbox mode to get a feel of the changes. Some of the aerodynamic parts have changed again so a lot of my planes will need to be reworked. Flying them needs more care as well. Thinner atmo at ground level means you can now reach higher speeds but you run the risk of structural failure as a result. Reentry from orbit is more difficult as the heating effects are more than just visual now and can damage your craft. Finally my SSTO plane that I took for a flight can no longer make it to orbit it actually started losing speed once I got to high altitude. I presume this is a result of the changes they have made to hoe the engines work.
For the moment I think I am going to continue with .90 as some of the basic mods - alarm clock, trajectory etc - haven't been updated yet and I currently don't have time to sit and re- learn how to do a lot of the things that now need to be done differently.

Installed 1.0 last night and started a new career on normal. Very please with the improved loading times and graphics. Biggest difference is the atmosphere, toppled over half of my launches after drifting to far from my vector, but enjoying the new contracts and the more strategic building of rockets.
Rizzo, my tip is start small. Do a command module with a parachute on top, a separator underneath with 2 small fuel tanks and a 'swivel' engine. And build up from there. If it goes wrong, you can revert to launch, or even quick save (f5) and quick load (f9)
