I've downloaded it so, I'll have a look tomorrow morning. There should be lots more to do in the pve world. Having said that, it sounds like it needs to be done as a group rather than solo which, given that I tend to play in the morning these days, could be difficult.

My overall interest in the game is pretty casual these days, I'm not all that bothered about progression but, it is fun for the occasional half an hour's 'shooty shooty' shootthumbup

Have played it today - the new incursion is quite different to the existing one, but not particularly difficult on hard mode at least.

Not sure about the PvE world - yes there are new things to do, but a lot of them are even easier than the dailies and the rewards aren't great until you plough a lot of time into the easy stuff. Once you've done the easy stuff to unlock the hard stuff, you then need a group, so still not great for the solo player.

A lot more loot drops now though, but it's still mostly 204/214 stuff, so once you hit level 204 or so, it's difficult to progress without doing the Challenge mode of the incursions or playing DZ06 against level 34 bad guys.

Still, there's a lot more to do today than there was yesterday, so that must be good news in itself. smile

I had a quick dabble for an hour or so this morning. Gathering intel is easy and will need grinding to get enough intel points for the high value target bounties. The bounties themselves (so far) have been pretty straight forward and easily completed solo (at GS197), although I've only done the lvl 30 and lvl 31 daily bounties so far.

In the short time I was playing, I got 2 new gear set pieces (for different sets unfortunately) both at GS214, which means they are viable alternatives to what I'm wearing. I have been rocking a GS163 M1A for as long as I can remember and, finally got a higher GS (181?) socom version this morning so, already I'm getting upgrades from drops.

Most of all, the PvE world felt like there was lots of activity and actually felt more like a living, breathing place instead of a barren empty city. I was actually having fun! It seems possible now that I can make actually make progress without having to bother with the Dark Zone, which is a big plus!

Not tried the new incursion yet but, first impressions of the update are good so far smile

Doing the higher level weekly HVT missions I got three or four 240GS items so collecting the data (they look like the grenade satchel icons, make sure to pick them up!) was worth it. Get in a squad though. The highest weekly HVT was Cleaners with five or six of the BIG heavies and they really hurt if they catch you now. Solo I doubt it would be possible.

I also love how the DZ at GS201+ is much more difficult. We had a group of three doing the library and ended up with some additional aggro from two groups from the side streets. 800 rounds later, two deaths with revives and liberal use of explosive bullets we cleared it, but it was difficult, heart pounding and actually was the Cover Shooter it was designed to be. And I loved it.

I've not seen any of these data things yet, what are they exactly? I've only done the first of the weekly HVT missions so far (Castro I think) as it seems to take a while to get enough intel points. Do you get intel points for doing the daily HVT missions? Presumably, it is fairly easy to matchmake for the HVT missions if needs be (ie. go to the nearest safe house and matchmake for free roam)

Was a bit confused by MissChief's post too - I haven't seen any "collectable" data items and can't find any mention of them on the usual forums? confused

Go to each safe house and go to the board that gave you the missions in the campaign. It will give you 3 "clear the area" type assignments. each of those is worth 1 piece of intel. go back to the board and update. this will then give you between 2 and 5 more pieces of intel. these can be used to purchase the HVT bounties.

Thanks, I understand all that - MissChief's post was hinting at "dropped" data items from enemies in the game though - I haven't seen any of these yet, but I have noticed my intel funds going up quite a bit more than I would expect from the mission, so perhaps I was picking them up anyway?

You will have picked them up without realising. They're just on the ground to collect like grenade and ammo drops. You usually get 2-4 per S&D mission.

Are you on console or PC MissChief - I still haven't seen any icons, but definitely have picked up bonus intel during missions. Maybe on console you just get them automatically?

I'm on PC. When you complete a mission you get some but there are usually some on the ground to pickup while you're doing the HVT missions.

I saw some this this morning. Youngsyr, you wouldn't even know you'd picked them up, they are very inconspicuous. You'd be forgiven for thinking they were just ammo or something.

I tried matchmaking for the HVT missions this morning by matchmaking at Camp Hudson (there was a post on reddit suggesting this) and, it worked well. Did the one before the hardest weekly (I didn't have enough intel for both). Unfortunately, I keep getting gear set pieces with electronics so, may have to re-roll some.

Incidentally, if you have 2 of the lone star gear set, you can switch to t hem, re-stock your ammo (with the 100% ammo capacity buff) and then switch back to whatever you normally use. My AUG starts every mission with 1700 bullets nowadays thumbup

If you have the season pass, pick up the Police backpack from the reward vendor. This and the double Lone Star means I have nearly 2k SMG rounds and 1800 AR rounds. Just don't forget to switch back as its a very low level backpack. Paramedic backpack gives you two extra med kits too!

I finally worked out what was going on - the "satchels" look very similar to normal ammo/consumable drops and are almost identical to med kit drops! smile

Will check all little grey circles on the mini-map from now on to ensure I hoover up all the intel. smile

BTW: Anyone know how I can get a 214 striker/sentry vest? I have multiple 240 masks, backpacks and holsters in the 1.2 gear sets, but all I don't seem to drop any vests, let alone a nice stalker or sentry version. frown

I have recently got this.
I'm ok at it, but slowly getting up there with better equipment and stuff. I'm like level 8 or 9?

As long as people are patient with me I would be happy to play with other people on PS4. Also have a mic :-)
My PSN is xjay1337

Falcon Lost hard mode I think will get you 214 armour for the old gear sets.

I've switched back to Striker now after the Sentry nerf and, it seems to be working well so far. I've almost got a full lone star set but, just can't get excited about auto rifles and shotguns!
