They're all in, as is Mars- been playing Rainbow 6 and WF with them for the past few months. In fact, I *think* I am due to be team killed tonight for what, er, I did before signing out the other night.
As an aside, we've managed to adopt a German chap into the "group." I've managed to convince him that Kaney is a bona fide chicken farmer. Oh the sts and giggles we get up to.

1. Enemies taking a great number of headshots to die - I get it's a shooter RPG, but in a real world setting I expect at least a drop of realism, a balaclava isn't going to block high velocity 5.56mm bullets. 2. Some enemies don't even flinch when shot. We're not talking about zombies, aliens or space demons here, we're talking about human on human combat. Again, the immersion will evaporate when things like that are going on. COD has better immersion in this sense.
3. Other players or even teammates going rogue to steal your gear. Forget LFGing high level raids, if you're playing with randoms the knives will ready at each other's backs at all times. Imagine if you're on Destiny and you drop a Treads Upon Stars with triple tap and firefly, then someone shoots you and steal it. You'd hit the fking roof.
I'm listening to some lads playing it now, so far I'm hearing annoyance at loot going missing after getting killed by other players and some areas of the map are pretty dull.
Of course, it's only the beta and I think it will make a nice distraction / a bit of mindless fun to have with Xbox mates, but I think some design blunders have already been made. It could turn out to be an amazing game, you never can tell until you play it, but let's not pretend the early signs are all 100% positive.

I thought the beta was mainly about stress testing and networks etc.
I find it odd that the beta only goes to those that have already decided to buy the game, why not have more confidence and use it as an advert to people who are thinking about buying it?
I've had a good think about and the squad play in the dark zone will be really tight. Move around in coordinated groups scavenging loot and then setting up an easy defended extraction. I feel during the extraction you will need to go rogue and not let anyone other than your squad use it as you won't be able to trust them.
All in all I think it will be good once used to the mechanics and the dark zone will be great for an hours group scavenging.

I'm not entirely sure of the mechanics, but this stealing gear business sounds like it could be a good thing if you play with a regular team. If, like Phil says, your team has to be on DEFCON 1 during certain situations, it should lead to pretty tense gameplay. Identifying targets with gear you want, the triumph of stealing theirs, the rage when you lose yours. It should be interesting....................
I quite like the game, it's pretty loot and RPG oriented...the shooting is not even on the same planet as Destiny's...but it's perfectly functional.
I got a blue semi-auto semi-sniper thing and that was much better as you had to aim your shots and could ADS for headshots. It also took big chunks of health off people.
Who knows what the later game is like, and whether the Dark zone will become boring, or a massive pain in the ass, or an interesting diversion at the end of a hard PvE mission.
