I think all my performance issues are related to the beer I drink while playing! Lol
Alcohol definitely affects my ping rate! I still blame havoc for all my bf4 related issues! Lol

Mine appear to relate strongly to just how s**te I am and also how happy I am to die to get a kill or even the chance of a kill.....A 2.8GB update file just appeared - no mention of what it is anywhere that I can see, at the moment I'm presuming it's the UI update they mentioned in readiness for BF1 and unified content.

Just thought I'd give a heads-up in case anyone wants to play later
Edit: it is the new UI
Edit 2: Make a note of your favourite servers before you install this - I've lost my list.

New UI is absolute st, you set the filter to 1-5 free slots and it gives you nothing but servers saying "63-65 (5)" then you're put in a queue.
I don't like it atall, I'm not overly impressed with BF1 from what I've seen, (grenade proof horses, more automatic guns than you can shake a stick at, silly bayonet charges)...hopefully the beta proves me its worth it, but given BF4 is the only game I play, if BF1 sucks, I'm going to have a long wait before another BF game is out that I want

You'll just have to try other games - there are some good ones out there. Destiny would be worth a shot for a start, you can pick it up quite cheaply now and they've ironed a lot (if not all) of the bugs out of it.I don't like it atall, I'm not overly impressed with BF1 from what I've seen, (grenade proof horses, more automatic guns than you can shake a stick at, silly bayonet charges)...hopefully the beta proves me its worth it, but given BF4 is the only game I play, if BF1 sucks, I'm going to have a long wait before another BF game is out that I want
All the expansion packs are now free:

The new UI is still awful of course.

The new UI has pretty much written the game off for me, every server with 10+ slots has lots of people waiting but it doesn't tell you and indicates there are plenty of free slots. It takes me 20minutes to get on IF I try, otherwise I just switch it off again and go off to do other things.https://www.battlefield.com/news/road-to-battlefie...

With BF1 being a turd (IMO) it looks like I am going to have to grow up and engage with other adults and do grown up things

I tried to join one the other day with 5 slots free (highlighted via the filter I've now had to create, ask to apply each time and then manually sort the list just so it shows me what was the default in the old UI) - joined, "you are 13 of 13"... then a second later I was in. It seems fundamentally broken. 58/64 [9] seems to be the way it's going to be from now on.And then you realise it's a server you got banned from for using the AA in the correct way and it was all a waste of time.
It wouldn't have been so bad if it had remembered my favourites so I could just hop between them trying to get on but oh no, start again and try to remember which KSA server is OK and which one is full of 'tards.

Exactly my problem. Just dusted down my (old PS3!) disc and played a few games on the PS4 last night - was great fun!
Even though the graphics aren't as good (which you soon forget), there's just something about BF4 that is missing in BF1.
I think it's that BF1 feels very "restrictive" in comparison - you always seem to be battling your equipment, just as much as the enemy. In BF4, it seems that you're much more versatile and can just get on with killing enemies.
E.g. the guns on the tank can rotate 360* in BF4, no having to mess around moving the whole tank to track a running enemy.
Flying helicopters is so much fun too.
