Bit of fun here, made this over the long weekend as a bit of a personal challenge. Remember that racing lawn mower made by Team Dynamics for Top Gear? Yeah, that biggrin

Not the last word in refinement or polish, but not bad for under 5 days work, and still a ton of fun!

Obviously its a bit unfinished, but I promised I would down tools after the weekend and upload it, so here it is smile

I've been playing with a few mod cars recently, having acquired a Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster, Ariel Atom V8 and BAC Mono. The Mono is probably the best of those with the Cinque being a lot of fun in a way too much power kinda way. The Atom is a bit of a mess and once it lets go it's pretty much uncontrollable.

Yeah I'm not a fan of ripped content, typically the physics are taken from another car or just terrible. That Atom is the only one I've tried, but the creator is making money from stealing someone elses model, and the physics are shocking.

I prefer just supporting scratch made stuff personally, but then again I can't guarantee the lawn mower physics are any better :P

Yeah, >95% of the ripped models are pretty awful but there are a couple of decent ones out there.

Rob, if you get that happen again, go into the graphics settings and reset your screen resolution. Seems to be a pretty common bug with new releases.
I have gone through this and all of the online fixes that I can find and mine still won't get past the start screen. I hadn't played it for about 9 months, went to play it at the weekend and I can't seem to fix it.

I also did a removal & fresh installation, after that I did the verify integrity and it was missing 2 files!

I have checked the resolution, edited the assetto_corsa file to change the threading, edited the graphics file to allow DX 10, repaired the microsoft visual redist file & unchecked enable post processing effects.

I can't see anything else to try now, have I missed anything?

Thanks.

Annoyingly, I can't remember where I got it from. It's called the 'Assetto Corsa Vintage Racing Trans-Am Pack' so you may need to do some Googling. It contains this lot:

My very quick review of the new cars....

  • Audi R8 LMS 2016 - Well, it's capable but tedious
  • Audi R18 e-tron quattro - See above but slightly more entertaining
  • Audi TT Cup 2016 - No
  • Audi TT RS (VLN) - Also no
  • Lotus 3-Eleven - Quite possibly the BEST car in Assetto Corsa. Totally, totally amazing.
  • Maserati MC12 GT1 - A bit of a handful if your fists are full of ham, which mine are
  • McLaren 570S - A lot easier to crash than you think. Very playful.
  • McLaren P1 GTR - Fast, fast, fast, fast, fast, fast, fast, scream, wall
  • Toyota Celica ST185 Turbo - My new favourite 4WD car and makes some of the best noises ever
  • Toyota TS040 Hybrid - Crazy bonkers super mega fast
So yeah, the RTR pack is worth the price alone for the 3-Eleven. Consider everything else in the pack as an added bonus. It really is that good.

Does AC have an Indy cars mod with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway? I quite fancy trying it before the race next weekend!
No, and I don't ever see it happening. Rfactor 2 does though, I tried it and realised how terrible I was (compared to normal single seater driving). Has the asymmetrical setup and offset steering, really strange and off-putting.

I got sucked into the Alonso hype and been watching a lot of it, definitily appreciate ovals more than I did before, can't wait for Monaco/Indy this Sunday,

Project Cars was supposed to have Indianapolis to go with the Dallara Indycar but it's another thing promised that never arrived before they dumped PC1 and moved to PC 2 which I won't be buying. - http://www.virtualr.net/project-cars-welcomes-the-...

You can get the road course version of the DW12 Indycar for Assetto Corsa though.
(Edited to Add) The Assetto Corsa DW12 Indycar mod also comes in all 3 configs.

_______________

You can get the DW12 in all 3 configs (road, short oval, superspeedway) and Indianapolis for rFactor 2 (and rFactor, with the older Indycars)
