Tough choice, had to hit the 355 though in the hope they pin the engine noise down.

I bought this game when it came out for PS4, played it for a night and gave up on it.

Bought a wheel for my Xbox one at Christmas, so bought it again. Didn't get on with it still. Just bought a play seat for my wheel. Wow, what a difference!

Been playing it for a few days now and just tried Forza 6. It makes Forza seem like an arcade game! I need to get some serious practice in though, still struggling with road cars at the moment!

I have discovered Assetto Rally, if you haven't give them a go.
http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/rallylegen...
http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?thread...

I gave the (available elsewhere) Group B Audi quattro Sport a run on the "Kanniranni stage" this is my first go, no idea which way it went but I did crash - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePy4A19V7Cg I haven't selected a handbrake button yet so I'll need to do that.

This is how it's supposed to be done smile - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLOaLy8IevQ

WRC cars need updating, sounds work in the car but exterior (and replay) sounds don't but there are updates on the way.

Of all the great cars people had to choose from I’m amazed the SF70H won, so disappointing but then a lot of kids aren’t interested in proper cars.

Ditto, anything but another high downforce sanitised car.

I thought it was a nice spread actually of old and new, numerically with the emphasis on the old too driving Not too many road cars either. What confused me was the Facebook post that I saw only mentioned consoles - are we getting this for the PC?

Hah! Balls to the consoles! PC gets it first smile

The reference to the updates for consoles are referring to previous updates which consoles haven't received yet.

Going from what I see on public servers, cars that aren't popular are classic cars, F1 cars and supercars. Even the modern hybrid Ferrari F1 car that is already in the game doesn't seem to get much use.

So that leaves Endurance racers?

You can have those anyway now, apart from the SF70H but you could have the whole grid with ACFL 2017 or Formula Hybrid instead.

I'm assuming that Kunos do more work than most 3rd party mods though with regard to modelling the car accurately?

You'll find a few cars in Assetto Corsa are actually ex-mods.

Cobra, Corvette C7R, Audi quattro, Lamborghini Miura, apart from the two conversions above I'd say a lot of work has gone into the others listed. I really wouldn't be surprised if the 288 GTO is the mod one now included in the game.

Just as an example when I worked on the TVR Tuscan challenge cars for rFactor I started in March 2007 and finished in January 2009.

Depends, some mods are poor, low effort/quality, some are made to an extremely high level, and everything in between.

I'd say the majority of mods are lower quality in terms of model/physics compared to Kunos cars, but there are quite a few exceptions. Also bear in mind modders can afford to spend many months on one single model, Kunos can not.

I wish I had the time and skills, as I have a racing car sat in my garage that I could presumably model perfectly as I have all the dimensions, weights, torque/power curves etc. It would also be of great benefit to me to practise with it on a sim as I can't afford to drive it anywhere near as often as the people I race against.
