So had a day off waiting for a phone line to be installed so spent the day with the wheel out on the PS4.

I decided to play Pcars first as the new one is inbound this month it was so dull. I switched back to AC and it was great thrashing the KTM around sideways everywhere. I did have some issues keeping the Maserati 250 in a straight line though but skinny tyres probably doesn’t help.

I had a go last night for the first time in a while. Tried to set some fast times around Black Cat County in a Diablo SV, Atom V8 and 620R. The 620R laps did not got well.

I pre-ordered an XBOX ONE X mainly for PC2 and Forza 7 so bought a Thrustmaster TX steering wheel ready for when it came, I then got impatient so bought a cheap second hand XBOX ONE and Assetto Corsa on Friday, what an awesome game, the physics feel superb and the sound is great too, found it totally immersive but bloody difficult, made me realise how un-sim games like Forza and Granturismo are. Trying to control the F40 when the Turbos spool up and it not pointing in a straight line is fun

Take the Sauber Mercedes C9, up the boost to 100%, go to Spa, set the track temperature as low as possible. Enjoy.

Or just play with a Cobra with TC off. On a gamepad.

Oh, if you want to take things to the next level, mess about with FOV.

https://youtu.be/cpnlSnqWy6g

I feel like I'm sitting in the car now at the right point. It's funny because I could never drive with the in-car mode in games in the past, seeing virtual arms all over the place and so choosing bonnet cam instead but the reality is that when you drive a real car, unless you look down, you don't actually see your hands unless you're driving an F1 as your view isn't as big as you think it is.

As a consequence of setting the FOV to be roughly what it should be, I have far fewer problems with tank slappers even if another car nudges me.

It looks awesome! We finally get another 1967 3.0 litre formula 1 car to join the 49 cloud9 250 GTO as well and a 330 driving

Btw, I'd recommend tuning into this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4L3XMa5EAZQ

Live stream tomorrow by the brains behind the whole operation that is Assetto Corsa - Stefano Casillo.

You've maybe heard or read some of his responses on forums, and he's quite... well a dividing personality, some love him, some hate him, and he often says things that don't do him any favours. But on camera he really is able to get his points across much more effectively, and is always a pleasure to listen to his take on this massive project that has consumed his life for the past 5 years or whatever.

Plus he'll be showing off the 250, no better reason to tune in than that :P

Back onto the shameless plug - LOUVRES! biggrin Can you ever have too much?

Various racing bits and bobs coming along nicely for the GTS

I can't wait to have a go in the 250 GTO. The sound of it in the video was pretty good!

Recently bought a PS4 Pro to go with my Sony 4K TV and it also coincides with the imminent release of GT Sport. I purchased a pre-owned copy of Assetto Corsa as well as downloaded the packs and I must say I'm having so much fun, especially using the Logitech G29 wheel and manual shifter. At the moment I'm enjoying the GpA E30 M3, Mk1 Escort and the LaFerrari but still getting used to the other cars.

Completely different (and better) to GT6 as I'm still playing the seasonal events.

You will love it, get the Porsche pack - the GT3RS is sublime!
Thanks this is definitely on the cards. Might just get the season pass to get everything although its a shame it's not still on offer like it used to be. looking forward to trying some of those Porsches - heard the cayman GT4 was pretty good too.

Tried to give the F40 a little go - wow that's hard work. Took me 30 minutes just to get a clean but slow lap around monza!

Also tried the old lotus 25 - am losing the back end a lot on downshift using the clutch - I'm guessing I need to h&t as auto blip doesn't do much.

All good fun tho

Gah 11.4GB update!! Got to wait 5 hours - given I started at half 6 that's probably tomorrow now for a school night... probably;)
How do you know if an update is available?
It told me when I started the ps4. Then last night it told me about another one - its on 1.15 now

My 4 hours yesterday has revealed a massive flaw in assetto corsa for me, at least on PS4 - it doesn't save lap times!! WTF??

it obviously has them temporarily as during the session it gives you delta's to quickest etc - but every time you exit or restart these disappear!?

I put in 2 straight hours doing one of the challenges - finally achieved a silver with the alfa 4c around nordschliefe - but no idea what my time is, and if I want to try again I won't have splits to compare round the lap.

Seems a pretty fundamental omission for a race sim - basically I only wanted something for hot lapping and setting times - i can spend hours just trying to get a few tenths off, and this game doesn't give me this most basic feature frown

I think there must be, if I remember on the PC they are all in the options/profile section. Big grid with options.

The PC version certainly does. All I do is hot lapping; I've never done a race on AC. All my lap times are saved.

Certainly, on PC, the default setting is to save the ghost car hot lap.

I seem to remember that if you turn off penalties for clipping corners etc. it doesn't save? At least on PC.
