A gateway game for FPS noobs. Pretty and shallow is ok for a holiday shag but I wouldn't bring it home...
In fact I can't even be arsed to download the demo given what a wasted opportunity this was to do the SW IP some justice.
So you haven't actually played it? In fact I can't even be arsed to download the demo given what a wasted opportunity this was to do the SW IP some justice.
I think it's great fun, so much happening on the Hoth battle that it was never boring... I was even in a game last night where we got an AT-AT down fairly early. We still lost in the end, but people actually worked together on the rebel side.
Can't wait for battles in the forests of Endor.

Probably best giving your opinion on games you've actually played fella. Rogue86 said:

Probably best giving your opinion on games you've actually played fella. I went against my general principle of never buying anything from EA when I got this because I enjoyed the Beta. But I've shelved it now and gone back to Black Ops 3. Blops 3 is a flawed game too, but that's for a another thread. The deal breaker for me was the bullet (or blaster) travel time in Battlefront. Put simply, if I point my crosshairs at something and pull the trigger I want to hit it. I thought Battlefield struck a good centre ground between Battlefront and CoD where sniping at distance was affected by bullet drop and travel time, but close to mid-range gun fights weren't affected. But Battlefront has been so hamstrung by the Star Wars films in terms of recreating blasters, limiting weapons to those that appear in films and so on that recreating the films has been put as a higher priority than gameplay imo.
Going over to Blops 3 after Battlefront, the tiny maps and spawn-kill-die repetitiveness can get wearing. But what I am at, I hit! Plus whilst dodgy spawns are an issue for Blops 3, they were even worse in Battlefront.
The only game that's really stood the test of time for me of late is Rocket League. Downloads that cost about £3 and are entirely optional, in-game communication that avoids trolling, gameplay not entirely dependant on internet speeds. Great game.

I am getting killed a lot but I am still actually enjoying it oddly enough.
I worry but when I am sat behind an X-Wing firing away and blow it out of the sky, well, that is pretty good....
I've also levelled up and have homing shots which are quite fun. And a more powerful gun which helps.
Still getting spawn killed but I only really play Fighters or Walkers......

OK I think I have this worked out now (but it is still a guess).
I think its a sever choice issue.
My friend and I live about a 10 min walk from each other which in global terms is next door. We were in one server and were getting K/D's in the region of 15/5 even achieving a 24/6 in one round. We then took a break and came back an hour later. the only thing that changed was the server and we couldn't buy a kill. The game searching for the most full server without regards for it's location means you get a nice full server with a horrendous ping.
WHY OH WHY WON'T THEY LET ME CHOOSE MY SERVER!!!!!!!

So your success is determined by server choice. Sounds a very hollow experience.I think its a sever choice issue.

That is most online games...
Even with the PS4 now thinking I am running 20mbps.
I'm running a max of 40ms ping on a 20-60mbps line - it makes no difference as most games have lag compensation built into them and tend to benefit the higher ping players. Hence the existence of lag switches. Even with the PS4 now thinking I am running 20mbps.

Apparently its 28 quid on psn.
Bf4 is similar, ie how good your connection is though theres a couple that we play with that have st internet and always come top. They can insta drop you but you cant hit them for st
Yes but in BF4 they allow you to choose your server from a list which has many filters including ping. I always choose a server with a low ping and as so I have much better success. In Battlefront the server is chosen automatically by the game based on how populated it is, so you always get a full game but the quality of the match is completely random.Bf4 is similar, ie how good your connection is though theres a couple that we play with that have st internet and always come top. I got this yesterday - bought the 1TB PS4 bundle with the Darth Vader console (because the boy wanted Lego Dimensions and my PS3 is 8 years old).
Got some time to have a shot today: spent quite a while trying to figure out where the actual "game" was - it was only after reading this thread I realised it is just a collection of levels and there is no story mode. That is really disappointing
Looks pretty though

I've actually spend 95% of my time playing split screen with the boy and he has spent ages with his friends doing the same (he' 6). So it's been good value for us and I've not gone online yet.
I would have liked a story mode but it's never been advertised as being a single player experience.
