I'm hoping for some kind of Iain Banks story but fear it will be a little shallower...
Especially if we can have AI ships with names like:Screw Loose
Flexible Demeanour
Just Read The Instructions
Of Course I Still Love You
Limiting Factor
So Much For Subtlety
Unfortunate Conflict Of Evidence
Youthful Indiscretion
and the unforgettable "Meatfker"
I'm not so sure about this one. I've been looking forward to it's release, out of curiosity, for the last few months but I'm still struggling with the lack of story line. I just watched a 20 mins of game play on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-uMFHoF8VA) and it bored me if I'm honest.
I hope its fantastic of course but I'll be waiting to see what others say before I spend my money.

I think anyone buying this for the story will be bitterly disappointed.
Yes apparently there is a mystery about the sentinels and their role in the Universe etc but the driving force of the game is the developers giving us an infinite Universe sandbox to discover and play in. To do in as we please.
Wanna be an explorer? Go do that
Wanna be a trader? go do that
Wanna do nothing but dog fight in space? OK then, go for it
Wanna find an enormous planet and stay there until every single square mile is discovered? Enjoy yourself
Wanna do nothing but head for the centre of the Universe as quickly as you can? It's that direction ->

Don't know if you've been keeping track guys, but a Redditor got this early a couple days ago, paid something like $1200 for it and uploaded around 30 minutes of gameplay.
The developers and some game sites freaked out about it and the player, after the stress of the whole situation, has decided to not upload anything else until release day.
The footage isn't actually spoilery at all to be honest, it's just raw unedited gameplay by someone playing it for the first time, and it's a great representation of the actual game, so if anything it's done the game justice and probably helped build hype for it, I'm going to preorder it from Game on Monday to grab the preorder bonus as a result of seeing this footage.
Read all about it here, the uploaders name is 'daymeeuhn' for reference, there are also links to the video as YouTube have removed them all:

I cannot quite decide, I like the look of it and it would give me a different genre of game for my PS4 (all I seem to have is shooters atm)
But I feel like it could get very repetitive very quickly. More like the whole thing is more of a technology demo to show off their creation algorithms rather than it being a game
