No Mans Sky - looks interesting
Discussion
I like the game because it's easy to play.
I can easily waste an hour or two on it, it's not stressful at all. Compared to our Weekly Project Cars time trial I'm forever getting angry going "ARRRGHHHHH" as i spin, repeatedly, into the wall at high speed.
This game is just nice and cool.

Agreed, it is very relaxing and the soundtrack promotes just chilling around. If I was to play it enough then I think I'd like to have better ship controls and faster movements when on the planet (either by vehicle or on foot) but I wonder if it would lose the slow tempo.
Unfortunately for me I don't feel there is a hook good enough for me to get into and after 6hrs I've pretty much stopped playing. When I want to relax I play one of the truck simulators.

I'm still slowly exploring, the game is on rotation with the other two I'm playing at the moment. Each is different so depending on my mood depends which I'll play.
I think for me as I haven't rushed to the center/atlas path/upgraded everything, hell I've still got a 17 slot ship, that is what is keeping me entertained. Well that and the chilled nature of it all.

Finally made the jump to my second galaxy last night, after i harvested a couple of crashed ships so i had the resources to fix up my stuff.
Think i'll take more time and do more exploring this time, after i did the Atlas Path i just ran for the center and only stopped for resources.
Think my ship is a 42 slot so that's my next priority, weapon and suit have been maxed out for weeks. Plan is to get to a 37 slot ship then search for a ship i can live with for a while.
I play NMS to unwind and chill out, it makes a change from shooting bullet sponges in The Division (which i'll start playing more when they release the next patch). Hopefully Hello games only make NMS better and better as we progress through it.

It's good that some people genuinely enjoy the game and are still playing it. But the naivety needs to stop
Hello Games have effectively took their money and ran. Their Twitter feed has been dead since pretty much release, Sean Murray hasn't shown his face in a single interview since release.
Even the DLC and additional content they hinted at (base building, freighters etc) will likely never be seen.
By all means enjoy the game for what it is, but don't be fooled into thinking it will ever be more than what it is right now.
The current player base for the game is ~1000 people.

I disagree Smithy, I'm still expecting hello games to release some DLC for this game, I dont think they would be foolish enough to charge for it (people would say the game was released unfinished so wont pay for what 'should' have been in the game from the start) Also, HG have released a load of patches so they have not taken the money and ran, i even heard of them contacting some players who had submitted tickets to ask if the latest patch had resolved the issue.Hello Games have effectively took their money and ran. I also cant believe that there are only ~1000 people playing this - I question your sources.

Time will tell. It's going to be very difficult for HG to clear their name now, whilst there might be a small core of people that are happy with the game and hopeful for the future (no problem with that), the majority of original players have packed up and left with a bitter taste in their mouth.I also cant believe that there are only ~1000 people playing this - I question your sources.
I didn't want to jump onto the hate bandwagon but after watching most of the critical videos, demo footage and interviews with Sean, it's hard not to feel done over.
I wish now I'd have bought it on Steam rather than PS4 because I would've asked for the refund.

I dont disagree with you there, I do understand why there is a lot of hate for this game, Personally im still really enjoying it. Im maybe 30-40 hours in and still have plenty more i want to see/do.I didn't want to jump onto the hate bandwagon but after watching most of the critical videos, demo footage and interviews with Sean, it's hard not to feel done over.

I think the reason for the silence from HG on any social media is due to the backlash they know they will get, When ever Rockstar release a new DLC there are always comments along the lines of 'how about you fix X' or 'what are you gonna do about Y'
Ive said from the beginning that Sean Murray was not the right person to be the face of HG, they should have employed a proper PR person who could have handled the Q & A sessions better. SM did not fully understand the questions being asked and was extremely vague in his answering, I put this down to him being an extremely introvert person and almost being 'out of touch' with his target market.
"Should have been an early access game"

But rumours of free DLC that should allow quests and multiplayer

I hope that they can salvage the game. It has a lot of promise

Friend of mine was convinced it'd be the best game ever created and bought a PS4 for it
Unfortunately I think you're both right that it won't recover and is probably going to go down as one of the biggest gaming disappointments. I mean people have forgotten about the issues of Star Citizen due to this
