Well done. Stuck on 3k damage and cap.

Type 4 is a very jeckle and Hyde.

On another note, I've been working my way up the American non-turreted TD line from tier 8.

Hated the T28 (odd as I like the Prototype). Everything seems to be able to pen you, and the gun is total crap at sniping.

So I gave up and free-XP'd to the T95.

Wow, the Doom Turtle is frigging great! It's very situational and not great if your team dies quickly or you're on an open map with arty but it can really hold it's own even against a lot of tier 10 tanks and the top gun is absolutely awesome.

eek I've literally just finished grinding through the t28 too, hardly seen another one in the process in around 110 games or so, I guess. It wasn't quite as bad as I expected, really - you are right the gun isn't a sniper and the armour is a bit unpredictable (well, it's entirely predictable that your sides and arse will be penned by everything, but frontally it's sometimes bouncy). It's also 6kmh slower than the Prot, despite having the same engine and being lighter...

...but over 3k dpm, 1500 hit points and 244 / 290 something pen premium ammo (when needed) means it can dish it out when people come looking for trouble. Certainly surprised a few tier 9 & 10's with how quickly their HP go down when they think they can ignore you. Ended up just shy of 2k dmg per battle, so somehow worked out one of the better tier8 td's for me.

Good to hear the T95 is an upgrade though, just haven't quite got the oomph to work on another slow casemate TD right now. Waiting for the Conway buffs in 9.20 for the next grind, that sounds like it will be pretty good.

Good to see more love for the T95, it's my most played tank. Halfway to my 8th crew skill on it, with 633,000 xp on the tank. Although my T110E3 crew is catching up with 535,000 xp and hallway to my 6th crew skill on that. I've kept every tank on the line except the tier 3 and 5, although I might sell the T18 or T3HMC as it's called now as that's a complete PoS since the nerf but it's nice having a tank with a 63% win rate.

Nice game in the SU-100. A tank I kept as I like it so much.

The new 'HD' maps are on the sandbox for testing now, they look really nice. Quite surprisingly bug free, too, which bodes well for a fairly early release of them to live. Performance wise they are running well, still getting 90fps+ running on maxed out settings, with a 1.5yr old gfx card (GTX 970) that isn't even remotely stressed by it. 4k looks better still, supposedly (it should, of course), but monitor doesn't support that resolution sadly.

Some of the visual effects are very cool - bushes move when you drive through them, the shockwave over water and grass when firing near it, the fact that a tank comes out of water wet, gets dirty when driving in mud / sand. Some structures now crumble into seperate bricks that are each dynamic with the environment, rather than just going poof into the air. Simple things, but make the game area feel much more alive.

The only downside is that for people who were running on the lowest settings previously, while they will still be able to play, the game actually looks worse on the new lowest settings.

Only 12 maps done so far, at least that are ready for test. Screenie from Cliff:

While the new graphics are very nice, of course they don't do anything to address the fundamental issues the game has still (Matchmaker, balancing and some poor map layouts). At least they are a nice place to be frustrated in smile

It beggars belief that WG have spent so much time and effort making these maps HD, and they do look superb, but the maps are still rubbish.

I know primarily this is aimed at PC players but having played WoT Blitz for the last year or 2 the current version is far better, I used to struggle for money now I’m flush with it, I have loads of garage slots with a good range of tanks that makes it feel a grind without being tiring.

I also keep obtaining free premium certificates I have around 100hours saved up which I’m going to use to try and obtain the new Warhammer 40k tanks when the battle goes live.

I also had the game on PS4 although a lack of team made me stop playing. Any players on here?

Think I posted that a year or so back when it was in beta.

Have you sent in strongly-worded tickets advising them how best to (in essence) create maps you're happy with?

Could be worse - in WarThunder if you used the ultra-low setting it remvoed the bushes so you could see tanks behind them, people on 'normal' graphisc setting would just see the bush.

I'm out of WoT for the time being, I'm sure the updated matchmaking meant playing in a 3 man platoon meant we never got top tier games.

Yep, they pretty much admitted as much in the notes for the upcoming patch - supposedly they are making it more likely now that platoons get top tier also. To be honest, believe that when I see it, the last mm changes pretty much had unintended consequences all over so who knows what the latest changes will do. Pretty sure WG don't have any real clue, it feels like change it and see right now.

The PC matchmaker update did sound like a great idea, but in practice has been a total disaster. It would be great to be in a tier X, feeling like a total god with only 3 enemy tier Xs to fight against, but that only works when there are few people playing tier X and loads playing tier 8. I liked the sound of it at first but it just didn't work.

Being trolled heavily by MM tonight.

It seems like no matter what tank I use I couldn't buy a win. The last two games have seen me fire 4 aimed shots into the side of a fully exposed SU-85 from my concealed Hellcat, not one hit, I then went on to bounce several rounds off stationery arty.

The next game starts and I set off again in the Hellcat, about 30 seconds in and boom one shotted by arty whilst I am careering at full tilt all over the map. How they predicted my position I don't know, I sure as hell didn't know where I was going to be.

Some days you just have to log off and do something else.

So I switched to the M4.......

I know that feeling. I play Blitz on my iPad. Today I turned a corner and got blown the st out of by 4 tanks instantly! Likewise firing shots left right and centre which would normally be a success just bouncing off. Decided it was time to have a breather.

I've been playing War Thunder on the PS4, the dark side! It's not perfect either but does a lot of things better than WOT, chiefly when you fire the gun and hit a target, it really feels like you're firing a weapon of incredible destructive power and also precision. The hammed up inaccuracy of the guns in WOT is massively over the top. Tanks not having health bars is a great thing too.
