These purchasable loot boxes a PC version thing?

All I get on the console is the daily missions and the win 10 games to get a box a day? I really should put my PC back together...

Yes, its PC only. On console we only have the new daily war chests (10 wins), 12 days of tanksmas and the ISU-130 earn op.

The ISU-130, lucky buggers, it was only given to (literally) a handful of people on the pc version and its not available at all unless gifted by WG.

All it has going for it is rarity factor. It's slow, has bad camo, no armour and a lacklustre gun. The DPM is decent but hard to bring to bear tier 9 and 10 games since you'll be spotted and killed very quickly before you've managed to get many rounds to pen. Standard pen is on 215mm with AP and the premium round is a low pen, high damage AP with only 185mm of pen - truly dire.

With the new era premium TDs like the Skorpion and Strv S1 the ISU-130 is completely and utterly irrelevant. It's a nice garage trophy though.

I've not taken it out yet and possibly won't, not really a fan of turretless TDs (apart from the e-25 of course). Worst case it's a free 2.5m silver and a garage slot.

Just won a Primo Victoria!

Should hopefully earn some credits with it. Needed as I'm burning through them grinding out tier 7,8,9.

Doing the MT 4.* missions, consecutive games, the 3001p at tier 6 is a serious seal clubber

Couple of nice games there! That's one tank I haven't played.

Nice games Rob smile Im thinking of dropping back to T6 as im trying to grind through T8 (T28) and T9 (T30), but the teams are an absolute nightmare, how most of them got a t9 tank baffles me but they really don't support you.
Pushed forward as a top tier in the T28 with 3 tanks behind me (my "team" ) and 2 enemy in front, get up there and look behind and that's it, my 3 team mates have foxtrot oscar'd and left me facing 2 tanks alone, of course we lost that game as its difficult to kill 2 tanks v 1 when they push you, nearly did it but hey, would have been good if I would have had support.

Undecided about the T30 (its a good TD), whether to keep the 155mm or drop back to the 120mm and get the extra ROF and just load gold like very other fooker out there.

I think it's my fav medium tier for tier.

Just got a jumbo too that's heaps of fun. Mini kv2.

T30 I've still got unlocked the e4 but can't spare credits for. Gold works out if you need it because of price and damaged one tank I never worry too much about pressing 2 in

I'd stick with the 155mm over the 120mm on the T30. Few reasons:

  • Bigger alpha is a big psychological advantage. Yes, the reload is slow, but no one wants to take that 750 (potential 938) first hit. Even for a tier 10 thats a game changing amount of HP - so they wont rush you like that (if they are smart). With the 400 alpha on the 120mm, they can afford to lose that and once you are rushed in the T30, even with higher DPM, its gg.
  • You need to reduce the amount of time you are available to be shot due to the poor hull- maximising the DPM on the 120mm will leave you vulnerable to counter fire too often, unless you find a really good hull down location.
  • The overmatch possibilities on the 155mm are much better - 50mm of armour can be overmatched with this, which is really handy for dealing with the Swedish Cheese Wedge TD's at tier 9 and 10. The 120mm is autobounce on them.
  • The 155mm also carries a higher chance of critical module damage - so full ammo racks, fires etc will happen more often too.
It's a lot to give up for a bit more DPM and (I think) accuracy. The only real plus point I can think of for the 120mm is it will be better in end game if there are a lot of low hp enemies as you will be able to shoot more frequently to finish them off.

Been away from the game a couple of years however after a new PC build I felt I needed to justify my expense so gave the game another shot as could not find any games that did it for me.
Found that my much loved Matilda is not as much over powered as it did a while back, in particular the Luchs in close distance can trash tilda in an a very embarrassing way.
Changed my attitude to the game and only play it to have fun and stick with certain tanks I enjoy and not bother going up the tree.
Also like the fact that the opposition chat is not shown anymore.

I swapped to WarThunder, it's a more relaxed version of WoT but with different frustrations and prettier graphics.
When I do go back to WoT it's just some drunken charging about in tier 6 mediums...

Great work!

I'll be back on Tanks some time this year in between kicking the arse out of Monster Hunter World. I think it will be the Chinese TD line for me next.

I've been shaking my head as usual at Wargaming's inability to learn from their mistakes, they've put the Chrysler K tier 8 premium in the game with absolutely zero balancing, no frontal weakspots. I know the usual track it / flank it / it's rear turret so it's inflexible stuff applies, but with the map meta being so heavy on boring corridor maps when it's top tier it will continue to be incredibly OP and and the people who use it will continue to spam premium at everything.

I saw Quickybaby's video on the new maps the other day and I have to say that once again, it looks like Wargaming are about to drop a few more stinking turds. They really need to hire some new designers or something.

The KV2 is one of my favourite tanks, she is a total beast, even facing T8's, its just a shame that people don't back you up with your long reload so peek a boom can be a real pain (plus the 320m view range). Still, she makes a great sniper due to her being a russian tank lol
