ToO has only taken precedence owing to PoE being awful with awful rewards. It is also less repetitive- each round is different.
However, those that Trials would trade it, in a heartbeat, for a proper 6-man raid or even decent 3+3 content. Co-ordinating 6 of us for the Wolves on Venus was so much fun. Sadly, that has been lacking.
More content is deffo not the answer- we'll just end up here in November saying that we're bored. They need to find away to incorporate/modify the existing raids (and I don't mean just an increased level cap) and content. I've no idea what that would look like. Perhaps CE has to be completed within a time limit and without wipes to complete an exotic bounty. That'd be a challenge. It would draw me in.
Some of the noises from Bungie are encouraging but the fact that a 6-man patrol isn't included doesn't bode well.
In the meantime, I'll be sticking to RL during the week and Trials for the weekend.

Stream has just finished.
Granted, they only showed off the tower, but some of the changes look very promising.
Inventory and quest trackers looked pretty standard for most traditional RPGS, but Faction vendors also now offer quests as well. All exotic items earned are stored so even if you dismantle one you can simply pull it from a blueprint in the tower at a later date. What's more, some - but not all - Year 1 exotics are upgradable to year specification, and this can be done almost instantly, provided you have the required currency. The perks are updated as well, allowing you to customise the weapons even further, and Suros Regime (Year 2) allows you to bypass Focus Fire if you wish. It also gets a paint job, looking like "Darth Vader's Ferrari" as Deej put it.
Most importantly, Vault space has doubled at the least.

I didn't watch the live stream, but I saw this Tweet from Bungie:
"Everyone who plays The Taken King will get one Spark of Light. Grab it at The Postmaster. Boost a new character or new subclass to Level 25."
Now that suggests that your new subclass will start life at less than level 25 (20?) if it can be boosted to 25, so that's 15 levels to upgrade straightaway. Was anything said about the existing subclasses? What level do they start at? I was under the impression you start at the level you are now, but how can that co-exist with this new information? Unless you have a distinct level for each subclass of course
Motes of light will now be used to upgrade your gear according to Luke Smith, glad I've started hoarding those
I'll watch the stream later when I have a bit more time

The bit I saw showed examples of quests, where certain targets have to be killed to give access to higher value targets (or something like that). But, the bit I wasn't so keen on was the fact that these were patrol missions and included multiple targets in the Cosmodrome, on the Moon, on Venus, Mars and then the Dreadnaught. That last one being the only interesting one.
It was just another reminder that 80% of the time, we'll still be running round the same old maps doing only slightly different quests and bounties than before for only slightly different benefits.
Not sure yet if this is going to be worth £40!

On the fence about TTK. I haven't played for nearly 2 months now but not for a lack of wanting to game. I just don't fancy playing the same PvE activities all over again & Trials seems have bred some seriously good PvP players - going from top 3 to bottom 3 on the team doesnt appeal either..
Can anyone recommend any games worth playing to tide me over to Star Wars Battlefront?

Tonight was just about the glitchiest, laggiest, buggiest Raid I've ever encountered. We had Crota and Swordbearer teleporting around on screen, switching between invincibility and immobility, I got kicked off map into a green screen at one stage, unable to do anything to recover.
As can be seen below, no one was able to pick up the sword at various points, which caused many wipes because you simply couldn't damage Crota.
https://youtu.be/N76ul-kK_co
Hell, at one point, Crota even ran from right side into the "safe" area, chopping down two of the fireteam as they waited for him to rotate back to mid.
Oh, and it goes without saying, but still no Crux, of course. 31 clearances in the bag, and it was Rubinho that stole it this time.

Sounds and looks like the host was lagging badly. Did you go to orbit and let someone else re-start the checkpoit as leader? Usually does the trick...As can be seen below, no one was able to pick up the sword at various points, which caused many wipes because you simply couldn't damage Crota.

Stimps, how was the Skolas run earlier?
Small Arms as a modifier is very much a double edged sword; it doubles primary damage, making clearing adds easier, but it reduces damage of special and heavy weapons by 25-30%, so even three Gjallarhorns take longer than normal to put Skolas down. Also, Lightswitch. Sitting on a mine and get one-shotted by a Dreg you hadn't seen? Gutting.

Not great and a good reminder why I don't normally use that LFG site.
Posted on there that I wanted to do Skolas but didn't have long, so wanted to jump in at the end fight checkpoint. Two random Americans ask me into their fireteam even though they hasn't started PoE yet, but I went along with it anyway and we made it to the final fight in about 45 mins.
We had a few attempts at Skolas but it is a bugger. We got his health down to about 50% on a few occasions but kept getting punched out by Captains when doing the mines. One of them kept running off on his own and that made it very hard.
We were getting ready to do another attempt and I got booted from the party and fireteam. Checked in to see what they were up to and they'd brought one of their mates in instead. Cheeky buggers.
It annoyed me as I wasted 2 hours of my day on that crap, warming up a seat for someone else. Extra annoyance comes from the rounds that I carried them through as they were useless in the two fallen fights.
Well, what can you do? Not much, so I reported them to PSN. The one for racism and the other for homophobia. I thought that was just, seeing as they kept calling Skolas a n****r and a q***r.

I would have offered to help through it this week, but Small Arms / Lightswitch is the least beneficial combo in my experience and I'm in no hurry to do it under that modifier again! I'm happy to run it with anyone, whether they've already done it or not, but in the latter stages of the Skolas fight it is definitely beneficial to have someone who has done it before and understands the timing. I've seen several attempts fall apart once mines appear; for some reason, people seems to lose their heads and forget about the other mechanics at that point.

I should be available from 13.30 to 18.00 next saturday. Anyone else yet to do Skolas that would like to make up the numbers? Moog? Rubinho?
Now I'm no mathematician, but I reckon you'll be about an hour short........ You'd better start at 12:30 Gassing Station | Video Games | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
