So - is the game any good? the guy in "Game" asked me if i'd tried it yet when I was buying Tomb raider?
I watched quite a few trailers and it looked a bit FPS samey to me - tell me i'm wrong?
Is anyone raving about it yet?
Our Xbone seems to be a very expensive bluray player at the moment.

I've not got Destiny yet (and based on what has been said here, I doubt I will), but my brother in law does and he's having issues playing it. I didn't really get the chance for a proper look at it last night, but when he's trying to connect, it's giving a message that the connection isn't good enough (or something to that effect). We tested the connection on Speedtest and it came back that there was a ping of 49-60ms (ran a couple of tests) and a download rate of 1.23mb/s. The Xbox said it was the same download rate, but said the ping was 130ms. I know those aren't the quickest speeds, but I didn't think they are problematic. I've not had much experience with consoles, so I don't know why the ping on the Xbox (wired connection, only about a metre of wire) was so much higher than the laptop (wireless, 6ft from the router). Can anyone help?
The Xbox pings a server in America, hence the 130ms. Mine is the same, and I think you'll find everyone on this side of the pond is the same too.
Been having a right blast on this. I've got a character up to level 24 and the game is feeling very different. With better weapons and upgrades (and more frequent loot drops), playing it on the harder settings is a much better experience IMO than normal. Closer to Halo on Heroic and Legendary difficulties, i.e. much faster AI and many more enemies at a time. Unfortunately the central hub sections don't change and they can be a bit too easy to breeze through.
The Strike playlists become available at level 20 (I think), and they are good fun as the players it teams you up with tend to be better than the ones going through campaign. Attacking the level 22 strikes was seriously tough, each lasting about 30 mins.
Overall I'm really enjoying it but I was a big fan of Halo, and I like pointlessly levelling characters in games like Diablo/Borderlands so it's right up my street.
Had a few good games with ConcreteBuffalo over the weekend and multiplayer seems good fun too.
