Oh, and since we are so close to release, please could I remind everyone to please put all spoilers inside spoiler tags... different people play games at different rates.
We're usually pretty good on this sub-forum for doing so but I thought it worth mentioning.
Sorry to have to tell you tis, but the cake is a lie. We're usually pretty good on this sub-forum for doing so but I thought it worth mentioning.

Have to say the early stages are pretty heavy going. I loved HR but took me about 2 hours to find a way into the bookshop, and then an age trying to get past the thugs because I couldn't find another way (which of course I then found as soon as I reached the objective)
Me too. Took me a while to adapt to the controls and even changed the button mapping to "Standard" as a result, much better for my approach to things (which to be fair is shoot first and then run away), but it's very much a cover based shooter if you assault things directly or a sneak around looking for alternative ways in if you don't. I last played HR years ago, so I found this new one really quite confusing for a while, but it opens up and makes more sense a little further inEarly doors still with very few upgrades, but you die very quickly indeed if you tackle things head on and don't have cover. Ammo is pretty scarce and you can burn through it in no time if you just open fire all the time, clearly biased more towards the think about it rather than run and gun play style at least at this stage (just used the underground for the first time, don't think that is very spoiler-y)
I figured that there had to be a clever way into the bookshop and spent ages looking for it but by doing so stumbled on a couple of side missions which I ended up doing instead. Tried to be stealthy once in, didn't work - headshots are your friend in those situations

Does the new one make the same mistake re stealth build and formalised boss-fights does anyone know?
Although I can't now remember where, but I'm pretty sure I read that there aren't the same OP bosses to fight in this one, so if you are going "all stealth" you shouldn't get hampered further down the lineSo far, so good and a nice change of pace - should be lots to do if you go looking for the side missions, other bits and pieces and don't just charge through the story as fast as you can

I didn't finish HR (got stuck with stealth build in over-powered boss situation) so I think I'll re-play that and wait for this to come in on Christmas sale.
Grab the Director's Cut of Human Revolution for your replay - it doesn't cost much now - because those boss situations have been altered to give a stealth alternative. Be warned, though, Human Revolution looks *very* dated now.
I wouldn't say HR looks 'very' dated; granted it is 6 years old and is heavily stylized (I actually miss the yellow-hues and background music, compared to MD) but it was one of the better looking games on last gen. Or maybe I am biased; it was my favourite last gen game and I still play the original on the PC (now that is very dated).
Played the first mission last night but want to start over; I kept changing the control scheme as I couldn't settle with any of them. It seems to throw you straight into the action as well, no gentle build up to the sneaking and killing unlike HR.

Yeah I don't think it looks too bad. The original though, that was dated when it came out. I should probably get past that and play it for the first time, I started with HR so with the new one there are two games left to play
I think I might hold off on it a while, I got HR at launch but I'm not sure how well my 660 will do now. Eyeing up a 970 at current prices as I usually buy at that age/price, but too many other things to buy in the next few months
Is the hub area fairly expansive, I hear there is only Prague in this? What little I've seen of that part, it does seem a tad cramped like HR was in places.
It's on GMG at 25% off too by the way (Steam version) https://www.greenmangaming.com/games/deus-ex-manki...

I would have thought it would be fine on that, I know it doesn't mean much in practice but the 780TI still stacks up very well in benchmarks, what settings and resolution are you using? Turning off MSAA could help considerably, the games' temporal AA apparently does the job pretty well (better than FXAA would).I think I might hold off on it a while, I got HR at launch but I'm not sure how well my 660 will do now. So what's a season pass?
All future DLCs. It is generally cheaper than buying DLCs individually but only if you want all DLCs, and in most cases it is a leap of faith as you don't even know which DLCs will be released. Is the DLC needed for the single player then? Ie, extra mini campaigns and missions etc? Or is it multiplayer stuff?

So it's essentially pre-order benefit for DLC.
Indeed. You are pre-buying all DLCs in the expectation that a) you are going to buy them all anyway, and b) that the Season Pass will work out cheaper. Mr Whippy said:

I don't know what is planned. Human Revolution only had one DLC, which was an extra single player storyline (and it was well worth having too, and for the Director's Cut is integrated into the main game). In Fallout4, as with Skyrim, there is a mix of pointless settlement / crafting add-ons, and decent extra story quests.
You pay your money and take your choice.
