I'm not sure they make money in the US - apparently their regular random battles are full of bots to make up numbers - same as you get in WoWP both in the US and Europe (though from what I gather we are worse over here where you often get just 1 real player each side for a battle outside of the weekend and never more than 5 or 6 a side).

I assume you are referring to co-op which is always filled out with bots? Bot players are signified by :Digger:

Random matches are always real players.

I assume you're a US server player? - My comment was based upon feedback from other players on the US servers. Happy to be corrected but this is what others have told me.

Nope, when the regular random battle queue can't find enough players it will make the numbers up with bots, on both teams. This happens on the US and SEA servers, particularly during off-peak hours.

I’m EU. Don’t think I’ve ever seen bots in Randoms. Late nights just seem to get smaller teams. I even had a 1 v 1 once. . .

I lost! smile

It's rare on EU servers - I've only seen it a few times, normally early hours when playing low tier ships. US it's meant to be quite bad.

Compared to WoWP though - which I also play - it's a good day when there's 3 or more players a side, except recently as it appears there may have been new players from WoT using free exp to get as high a plane as possible - non-premium tier 8 and 9 planes flown by people who have no clue how to play the game .... - sad thing is it does not necessarily make a difference as on the WoWP forums (both EU and US - former is quiet so there's a few of us who are also on the latter) you will often hear of bot A and B teams and you always pray you are on the former.

Well Well Well . . . Unless managed by WG, her return would be highly detrimental to high-tier gameplay eg only one per division!

  • sigh*
Wonder what special "anti-idiot" measures they are talking about re: team killing?

Oh for god's sake, that'll be torp walls all over the place again. 40 torpedoes in the water at once, what could go wrong.

They are releasing it to try and detract from the Clan Battles / CV cluster and the utterly pointless US BB T8-T10 Colorado split.

WG1 - “Quick, the community is in meltdown, what do we do?! There is a boycott of Clan Battles and apparently nobody wants 3 more Colorado battleships!”

WG2 - “Reintroduce the ship they have been crying about for 5 years, they will love us then!”

WG1 - “Good idea comrade! No gulag for you!”

I do wonder how they intend to balance the thing. Maybe if they give it lower torpedo range than it's maximum detection range, or terrible engine power. I think it will be one of those ships that isnt really fun to play with or against.

I am looking forward to shooting it in my Venezia though. rofl

SAP is about the only thing that will work - it's armour is so thin that even HE will over pen!

One thing is for certain. It will be horrendously expensive, as it is no longer a Tier 8! I can’t help but think it will be the first Tier 10 in the Premium shop & in the Armoury for doubloons.

It'll also be a huge target for EVERYONE at the start of the battle, bit like the toxic name the Smolensk has.

Rolf Harris would get a better in game reception than the Smolensk.

My guild/fleet/clan/online social group started in Navyfield where this was a viable ship, even with limited amo (think you just had one reload of torps). It was gone from closed beta before I started but we do have one or two who got in to the alpha and taunted us with the Kita until we saw video of how it worked, or rather didn't. Since then IJN torp nerfs and now this has been bumped to tier 10 and only has access (at present) to the 15km 57kts torp - so yes it can put a lot in to the water and the targets will have plenty of time to turn to avoid - did you note how they say it will only have narrow and super narrow launch angles ?

I fondly remember the Kita torp walls (alongside the blockshotting Nelsons) in Navyfield! That was 15 years ago now.

Yep so basically normal spread & pan-euro DD super narrow I assume. Also have the option to bump the speed to 60’ish as well as a further bump to 65’ish but reduced to 12km distance. That Heal will be required as will the Speed Boost. It’s the “British” Smoke that will be crucial in attempting to escape tricky situations.

I’m very apprehensive & very excited in equal measure! biggrin
