World of Warships
Discussion
Is WoWS still worth having a go at as a noob? I've got a bit of free stuff from Amazon Prime and WoT etc. but have only done one tutorial about 6 months ago.
Am I likely to get nuked to oblivion by sealclubbers the moment I step in to the game, or is there still some fun to be had at lower tiers?

Lower tiers is still a lot of fun plus you are in protected matchmaking until you get to Tier 5 I believe (correct me if wrong guys)
There is always co-op if you want to ease your way in gradually.
Also definitely worth considering paying for some Premium time to accelerate progress. Don't bother with Premium ships until you've at least reached Tier 5 and played several different lines & classes of ships.

The iPad uses World of Warships Blitz, which is not interchangeable with either the PC version or with World of Warship Legends on Consoles.
However you do join the same username list as people from all 3 games so a PC gamer can see the profile of a console gamer etc which is why people can see you but the invite will not work unless you using the same game version (PC, Console or Mobile).

Alas there is CV seal clubbing before tier 5 as you get experience CV scum jocks playing tier 4 with hist point captains plus their own experience, plus its not too bad unless you are unlucky (virtually no AA at tier 4, or even at tier 5).
Still worth giving it a try. If you PC based, join the PH clan and see if some one will join you at lower levels to help guide you.

Well done on the naval battles chaps. Good result for the clan.
Anyone run mods? I run a few through Aslain's WOWS mod installer, a few UI improvements like showing you the angle of a targeted enemy ship along with how fast the ship is, if they have torps and what the torp range is (invaluable when you have a secondary-build Massa like me and are deciding whether to close the gap to a DD or not).
I also run wows-monitor which I know is marmite as it displays winrate and PR numbers for each team-mate and enemy, but to be honest I find it very useful when a) deciding whether to push hard on a flank as I can assess the skill level of my flankmates, and b) when engaging an enemy as I can usually - but not always - use the numbers to tell if they are going to be a tough opponent tactics-wise.

I think they are borderline cheating. If they show information in the public domain then fair enough, but do they show your build and captain skills? There was one that showed if your target was moving forwards or backwards, is that fair?
Ive not used one myself, this comes from watching youtube vids of others that have them installed.
dapprman - surprised you are not running Navigator - now called Battle Expert . . . the one that shows your & the targeted ships' respective angles to each other, the mod now includes Running Lights.
Mind you once you have got your eye in - it becomes easier to regularly hit a target but with the above mod you can fine-tune your aim.
As regards cheating all the mods whether via Aslain's or Mod Station are vetted by WeeGee.

I remember in the beta when the torpedo aiming guides came in - at first a lot of us thought it was a big hack as it was not properly announced

Think I tried and dropped Running Lights (it's a combo of that and Navigator) - might give it a tryDrive Blind said:

I've not seen any that show captain skills and build - to be fair I can't see how that info would be available to another player anyway so I doubt they exist. I certainly do use the one that shows forwards and backwards movement as it's definitely easier than trying to see which way a bloody smokestack blows. If they show information in the public domain then fair enough, but do they show your build and captain skills?
