Well, managed to do all 8 stages last night, ended up on my roof near the end of stage 1, and think I had a spin on most others, apart from that not too bad.
Will upload my times as soon as this week's spreadsheet is up.
Wales is my favourite rally by far, that was so much fun! Will upload my times as soon as this week's spreadsheet is up.
Jay, I think you must be playing a different game. The first 4 stages for me really weren't that bad, I think I had a single recovery so lost about 7 seconds. By that point, you're already a minute ahead!! My final stage was admittedly an absolute abortion (drove into the forest so, recovery needed. Then lost the headlights. This led to a second recovery - lost over 30 seconds on a single stage ) But, before that stage, you're already almost 2 minutes up!!!
Do you have a specific gravel vehicle setup that you use (and if so, what is it?) or are you actually a professional rally driver?!
Any tips to help out us mere mortals would be very much appreciated

Haha, wish I was a pro, always wanted to do rallying but never had the money so I have to make do with the game lol.Jay, I think you must be playing a different game. Re setups, I do change things then save it and it's there to load every time I use that car.
Brakes i put 1 to the left of centre on gravel so there's just a tad of rear bias
Diff I open up the diff settings and there's 3 sliders, the top 1 i put all the way to the right then back 1 space and the same with the bottom 1. The middle setting I put all the way to the left then back right 1 space.
Gearing i move left a couple of notches,
Suspension i soften but not all the way same for front and rear and dampers I have even slightly softer than suspension same setting for fr an rear.
These might not be to everyone's taste but suits me. Try dialing in those settings, at bottom it says load/save press on my that and save it as Wales then see what you think. I use that setup for Greece as well but maybe a bit higher gearing as there's faster sections.
Sorry about the long winded post but hope it can help, oh I also use left foot braking specially on the high speed bumps bits just a dab.
Btw Greece is my favorite so looking forward to next week

No apology needed for the long post, that is exactly what I was after. I'll have a crack with those settings and see what they feel like - got to be better than the defaults! I also use left foot braking although, not always to the desired effect!! Re setups, I do change things then save it and it's there to load every time I use that car.

Do you use the same settings regardless of the car?

Brakes I put slightly to right of centre on tarmac an up the braking pressure as well, Do you use the same settings regardless of the car?
Diffs I keep the same on every car and if they have more than 1 diff I still use same settings on all diffs.
Gearing I put almost to right for Germany and bit less than that for Monte, all rest are near middle.
Suspension I put almost all way to right for Germany and Monte, with dampers slightly less than that but others I use softer option.
I set up every car I use and save it for each rally, then it's easy to load every time you start a rally and name it for each rally. For example the escort has 6 setups saved called Wales, Greece, Monte ..... and so on.
I also change toe in / out as well in the suspension settings to near the middle or 0% maybe 1 notch left, some are set fully left as standard and I didn't get on well with that.
Sounds a bit daunting but once you've set 1 car up it takes about 1 minute to do each setup. Save it and never have to do it again.

If you notice a new name on the PC league it's just me. I kept seeing this thread popping up so I thought I'd give it a go. Only looks like me and Tron have done any miles so far in Wales? (again, PC)

Stuff about settings on gravel
I had a quick go with your settings this morning and managed to go a bit quicker than with the defaults (although it may have just been a cleaner stage!). I was a bit disappointed to discover that I still had to actually drive the car, I was hoping it would sort of drive itself Definite improvement but, I think I just need to get used to them. They won't make me as fast as you unfortunately, I think you just have a knack for the game.
I'm currently doing the Swedish Elite difficulty rally in career mode and, it is driving me insane! No doubt it is down to the car settings again but, I really don't know what else I can do to try and win stages: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7Rwq9oDahU
2 small mistakes and the rest of the stage was about as fast as I can manage without stacking it in a snowdrift! So frustrating
Jumped over a fence in Stage 4 and had to reset the car because I couldn't drive it back on (the fence was in the way, doh!)... 17:34 total time so far. Annoyingly I'm only 10 seconds behind you now Jay, and that's with the 15 second reset loss . If I kill this car after such a good start I will be gutted.
Also, god, the league search is unreliable.

That looked a decent ish stage but theres a few places were you are letting off gas where as i am flat out, that downhill section aroun 1:18 is almost flat for a few corners, think it starts as a left 3 into 5 right but you can really tonk it through them, also at 2 mins theres a left 4 which you slow for but i take it flat out in 5th, so just in them 2 sections theres a couple of seconds lost there, plus the overshoot near begining of that hairpin left but rear bias on the brakes would have helped avoid that. The middle fast sections were pretty decent.Definite improvement but, I think I just need to get used to them. How do you record the stage ? i will do same stage in same car and record it but not sure how. Also on sweden in 4wd i put the power split 50/50 to try and help a bit.
Being honest you were only 9 seconds behind me on first stage this week and 14 after 2, so not that far off as long has you have no moments lol
