Project Cars Weekly TIme Trail

Doing these TT's is making me find out loads about this game and the G29.
So my latest lesson from last night - Brake temp,
I watched a couple of your chaps videos and also saw the comments about brake temp. So changed the HUD to view to the tyres/brakes (first time I used it). Now could quite clearly see how cold the brakes are on lap 1. But also I noticed on the red brake bar I was leaving a chunk of brake travel - was only going about 70% red unless I'm literally stamping on the pedal every corner. Think that when I setup my pedals for the G29 that's what I did - pressed down the pedal hard and as far as possible. But things is I never drive like that, too tiring and would prob break the pedals.
So recalibrated the pedal and now the brake bar goes fully red when I want which means I can now get temp in the brakes - lopped 1.5s off the time, lesson learnt.
Bad form! I have my brake pedal set up that you have to properly stand on (like nearly full effort) for full brake. Anything else is cheating So my latest lesson from last night - Brake temp,

Ha, well least now I don't fall backwards off my chair trying to stamp on the bloody brake pedal. Need one of those proper seats.Tronneh said:
With the Vive you dont set the depth of the lens, only the width.
I dont know how this would work with contacts, can only suggest you try one.
With regards to the other comment; I think that games that are built for VR are excellent, The Lab, Fantastic Contraption, AudioSheild etc are really good examples.
ProjectCARS has not been specifically built for VR and certainly their HUD implementation needs some work. Perhaps their is some optimisation they could perform but you still have the problem your specifically looking into the distance for a pin point. This was in the Lotus as its close to the ground and its fast sweeping corners, but is better when your sat up higher.
What i would say is, that all said, it is still very very good.
That's about the size of it, despite some issues, it's still a great piece of kit. Just wish the weather would cool off a little so I could use it more.I dont know how this would work with contacts, can only suggest you try one.

The made for VR games are definitely the best, and good news from Valve, they are releasing the rendering kit for The Lab to developers, which should help produce some great new games.
As for Project Cars, I'm still using the Vive for it and enjoying the immersion, just wish I had a better gfx card so I could get those jaggies smoothed out a little.
Would be great if they built Project Cars 2 with VR accounted for. Perhaps being able to turn off fences etc, which are the worst in regards to anti-aliasing.
It's in the GT class of car incase anyone wonders.
Very twitchy, almost unplayable on Gamepad unless you are incredibly smooth. Found the car gave it's best on the 3rd lap.
Have a feeling the fastest laps will be around the high 1:26/low 1:27 mark.

Agreed, very tricky on the pad, especially coming out of the hairpins. Quick couple of laps but definitely plenty of time to come off yet, not sure I'll get down to 27's though. Really need to commit going through that chicane.

Time updated, starting to like this combo, just right to be enough of a challenge but still fun.
