I would go 2600x and 16gb of 3200. No idea on the graphics card though.

Looking at buying this deal, but would appreciate some help with choosing the upgrades please..

Im wanting to have 1440 resolution gaming and be able to play the latest game releases. Most of the options are within my budget, but I don't want useless overkill. I'd rather put that money into a monitor.

Which of the following options would you choose?

Motherboard

CPU
Ryzen 5 2600?

RAM
16GB Vengeance 3000 or 3200?

Graphics card - I believe i need Vega 56 for 1440 gaming, but which one?

WIFI

I'm looking at something similar but thinking of a 450 M/B as it gives a few better features (StoreMI), I'm inclined to believe 2600X isn't worth the extra and Vega 56 can be had for great VFM if you buy the right card. Also 3000MHz RAM seems to be a good match for Ryzen CPUs as noted above.

Ooh that's a fancy case!

Looks like a decent price too although I have totally lost track of AMD's developments so have no idea how those components fair compared to Intel\Nvidia equivalents.

It used to be you could get similar or sometimes even better performance for less money with AMD, not sure if that's still the case?

It seems as cheap as buying the components separately and doing a DIY build.

New gaming PC arrived today for my lad, first one we have ever owned. Just managed to set it up and install Windows 10, eventually.

Check in the BIOS/EFI (whatever modern stuff uses) to make sure the RAM is working at its rated speed (3000Mhz) instead of the default which is something like 2400Mhz. Some system builders don't configure that correctly for whatever reason, and Ryzen CPU's really gain a lot from faster RAM.

Decent specs for the price, though I am curious how good the cooling is (especially at any given volume), as I can't see much space for air to get into those front fans?

Any recommendations please? Do they all fit, or would I need one specific to the motherboard?

A PSU is a PSU in terms of compatibility, the main difference when shopping for them is power, obviously (you can check the required wattage of your system by putting the parts into a list on somewhere like PCPartPicker,); and whether it's modular or not (meaning all the cables are removable, or fixed in place - removable makes it much easier to fit into tight cases and do neat wiring).

SeaSonic are a top brand, Corsair and EVGA are good too. Each PSU has a rating (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum(?)), so obviously aim for the best you can get for the budget, I'd want at least Gold rating for peace of mind

^^^^^^ Good advice, Superflower, Seasonic, EVGA are considered some of the best, Ive seen some Antec ones recommended aswell, Corsair ive read some criticism of their cheaper models but their premium ones are supposed to be good, Warranty can be a fair indicator of quality aswell, Ive just bought an EVGA 850W PSU which is a rebranded Superflower and comes with a 10 year warranty, HTH.

Nice - is the SSD an M.2 as that motherboard supports one? If not I would probably add an m.2 drive - just makes things a little snapier than a sata SSD.

Understandable - they seem to keep getting a lot cheaper at the moment anyway, so the loger you leave it the more capacity you'll get for your money.

Took a minute to get past the WTF is wrong then remember to check the mobo lights and needed to reseat the ram.

Have an m.2 drive getting delivered today/tomorrow so going to leave it till that arrives to do a fresh windows install then download and install software/games etc.
