Heh ended up with a 5950x, Gigabyte 3080 Vision and 32GB of 3200Mhz Crucial Ballistic RGB all on a MSI X570 Tomahawk MAX.
I have three more Uni fans on the way then I need to transfer a SATA SSD and 2Tb mechanical drive over then we'll be good to go!
Very tidy looking. Still waiting on my 5950X to turn up but I’ve only been waiting a month. I have three more Uni fans on the way then I need to transfer a SATA SSD and 2Tb mechanical drive over then we'll be good to go!
No RGB in either of my PC’s either but each to their own. Can’t see mine when it’s connected up anyway.
All fans installed. Still undecided about what colour to make the RGB. White would be an obvious choice but a bit plain. Purple or orange or perhaps a nice medium blue.
Quick question after an explanation
Got a bit bored on nightshift and have purchased a 360mm aio, x570 mobo and a 5900x.
Unfortunately the mobo and cpu have had to go back as one of the memory channels was dodgy and it wouldn’t run with anything in the B dimm slots.
With the AIO whats the best orientation? Pipes top easiest install or pipes bottom? if I can get then pipes past the GPU.
Been reading up and googling doesn’t give a definitive answer as everyones opinion is either or. I understand the whole air floating to the top argument etc.

Yes there are many opinions but watch this as it's been done with proper testing and gives results for different oritntations - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbGomv195sk
If you can't watch the whole thing, top mounted radiator is best, or front mounted with tubes down is 2nd best. Tubes up front mounted can still draw bubbles from the top of the radiator into the pump and a bottom mounted radiator will starve the pump of water, make noise heat and kill it.

This. As long as the CPU block isn't the highest point in the loop then air is unlikely to remain in the pump and block.
Will have that if its pipes at top. Roll on the bits coming back from RMA. MissChief said:
As you can see from my pictures further up my AIO has top exhaust. I hear no liquid or gurgling noises at all. In fact my fans remain on quiet mode all the time. CPU tops out in the high 80’s, absolutely fine for an AMD 5000 series, GPU sits high 70’s or low 80’s, again absolutely fine.
Think yours should have no issues as cooler top mounted as opposed to front mounted. What sort of pump/fan curves are you running?

Ignore the cable management and RGB(needs turned off). This was a test run to make sure it would post.
Had to remove the 3.5’’ bay to get it to fit and one of the pipes is a little bit tight but got it in the recommended way.
Just need to fiddle with fans and pump curves for noise and cooling. Also need to figgure out why I cant see the case fan speed.
Edit - how do I flip the picture 90deg?
Can anyone recommend any guides and sites for building a gaming pc?
- it needs to look cool so lots of lights etc
- it needs to be as powerful as possible
- it needs to be quiet!
Budget is 2k for just the system itself. My son already has screen, keyboard and mouse.
I suspect a lot of it is playground bragging so if a 3070i is possible over a 3060 then that would be great. Looking for around Aug - Sep time to finish the build so hopefully prices and availability of GPUs will have come down a bit.

I use pcpartpicker.com
It'll give you prices and availability from all the major UK sites as well as checking everything is compatible with each other. There are loads of example systems on there to get an idea of how it'll all look together.
When it comes to actually assembling it, it's really simple. Like (bloody expensive) lego. Watch a few YouTube videos and you'll be good to go

Thanks, although it is his project I kind of get the feeling i will have to do some of the heavy lifting here so I want to be prepared. It'll give you prices and availability from all the major UK sites as well as checking everything is compatible with each other. In all honesty going pre-built is probably the best option at the moment due to graphics availability. Something like this: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ocuk-gaming-bayonet... would be great and play everything thrown at it for several years.

That does seem to have everything he is looking for. A big concern is noise, his current gaming laptop makes a hell of a racket and spoils things when he is streaming to Twitch.Would something like this be much quieter?
