Whilst fun (for a while) it does get very repetitive aside from a handful of "boss" type encounters that happen in the latter stages. It looks great, moves very well though, very fluid and no frame drop (on PS4) that I saw and the shooting mechanics / glory kill also works well

I haven't finished it though (stopped at the final level) - just couldn't be bothered with another boss fight at the end and I haven't even been back to replay the earlier levels to find the secrets / collectables, etc. There isn't much depth to it, not that I was expecting that as it is Doom after all, but it all got a bit boring for me I'm afraid. Some of the weapons are poor and you'll find yourself using the same ones over and over again.

You will grow to hate Pinkys and their cloaking cousins if you play this game - bullet sponge hell rhinos

It's not worth the full asking price IMO, pick it up when it's on sale (which it will be before too long, I'm sure)
Agree with this 100% except I played on PC.
Enjoyed it but it got a bit tedious towards the end where they are just throwing more and tougher monsters at you to make it harder. I always find boss fights tedious.

Been busy for the last couple of weeks, but finally go back to it yesterday. I found Kadingir Sanctum quite easy. So much so, that i didn't complete the power-up challenge because I was saving power-ups for when it got tough and it rarely did. I need to go back and use those power-ups in the fights!

I am now in Lazarus Labs, finding it difficult to get through one part of it.

We've only just managed to get through the cyber demon at the end of Lazarus labs, it has taken us weeks of work to get the right level of weapons, including enough rounds for the BFG, it was amazingly hard!

Moved on now, and it gets even harder, but still a great game, but can be very frustrating when you can't beat that end of level boss!

Found half an hour to play last night, made my way through the foundry and encountered my first hell knight, bloody scary bds! Also got the plasma rifle and picked up micro missiles for the HAR, which both come in handy with the hell knights.

I know ill be taking months to work through it at this pace, but im enjoying it a lot, just half an hour here or there of ripping imps in half is a lot of fun.

Got to the end of the Lazarus Labs and it says my game save is corrupted and cannot be loaded. Spend loads of time googling and trying to fix it today to no avail.

You'll probably have to start from a scratch again...

Is your game saves folder included in your backups? If so, you may be able to get back by restoring Windows to a few days ago.

In the end, I just started again and this time I'm making sure I don't exit the level until I've found everything!

Not easy on some levels, such as the Argent Tower.

True, but the way the saves work, if you go back and find the hidden goodies after the bonuses are still added to your active campaign thumbup

As I have been doing this week. I still went past a point of no return last night in the Argent Tower while looking for one of the minifigures. mad

I had a play with it the other day and it's as I'd expected really. A pleasant enough throw back but possibly distracting.

I can't be bothered with the "hold the weapon in your crotch" option. It was an obvious thing to improve after Quake.

I have been playing a bit of multiplayer over the weekend.

I enjoyed it, although I am somewhat hampered by my (fibre) internet connection thinking about something else for a couple of seconds every couple of minutes.

Snapmap next.

Looks like it's half price along with the other Bethesda games on the Xbox store.

Got this on release but never played it due to other things on the go; just had a week off so finally played & completed this. Took a while to get into the style of gameplay (i.e. constantly moving and firing) but it was very enjoyable once you got into the rhythm of things. Does get a bit repetitive going from one arena to the next, waiting for the hoarde to teleport in though. The music was standout; I'm assuming it was NIN? Also loved the way you got hints of the old soundtrack every now and then, especially just after finishing hoarde battles and you'd get that low-tone, ominous beat biggrin

Gotta get back into Mirror's Edge now before Deus Ex comes out.

Half price on steam. Don't mind if I do. With my gtx1070 it's awesome. Only played till halfway through first bit of going outside to get to satellite dish. But enjoying the full on nature. Combat shotgun with burst FTW! Also love the wee doom marine collectiblessmile
