I only play this on Hard Core servers now, so much better when 1 or 2 shots will kill you plus really makes you think about friend or foe before pulling the trigger. My best games have been in this mode far more enjoyable.

Hoping for some advice on getting some new guns unlocked! This is going to sound like a really noobie question!

I really enjoy playing support class, but don't put that many hours into the game. When the game is loading, it shows me 5 tasks, but 3 of these are only do-able if i play a different class. Is that the only way to release new guns, simply follow this 5 tasks and something will get released to you, and the tasks renewed? What if i just want to play support, is there another way to release some new support class guns?

Go into your class set up - you should see the list of guns the bottom ones will be locked with tasks described for each gun & how to unlock.

So currently £19.99 for the revolution edition on amazon. Worth it? How’s the single player? I played the beta and wasn’t too impressed as soon as someone got in a tank they were invincible.

I bought this last year, played about 30 minutes of single player then went straight online which had my attention for about 2 weeks before i got fed up of the weapons due to the progression system.

That said, I played multiplayer again last night (after an 8 hour update install!) and I don't know whether they've tweaked things a bit or whether it was just me expecting it to be st but I really enjoyed it, seemed much better and I can see me putting in a bit of time on it now.

For £20 its for nothing, just be wary that you'll need access to PSN and a decent internet connection for it to be any good!

Still play this now and again but it's not as fun without people to play with.
Use to have my own clan and servers back in my COD2 PC days and actually played with a few guys off here on battlefield 4.

If anybody fancies a game etc my PSN is Jamlew

Still trying to get back into it with multiplayer. What’s the trick? I seem to get killed very easily whereas whenever I try to kill someone the gun has a mind of its own and fires everywhere but where I’m aiming!

I swear people seem to be able to kill me with one or two shots whereas I can hit them about 20 times with an automatic weapon and nothing!

I do quite like sniping though, however the game seems to make it very difficult to do so without immediately giving away your position with scope reflection!

That’s pretty much standard fare.

I normally have the best ping (15-18ms) and yet I am victim most to the 100-300ms players after rinsing them with belts and magazines full of bullets whilst watching their bodies do some mental twitch dance.

BF4 is still the better game technically and tactically - even if I can’t climb walls and keep forgetting. At least people drop when you hit them.

Most automatic guns have large damage drop offs so you may need 6- 7 shots you can see this in the menu. Son times yI've git no chance agains sone one wit a copen rfile at rage - so dhot bother, rUn and hide. Best way is to always be near other players so you all shoot plus always spot so you at least get an assist if you lose out in the fire fight. Burst fire and make sure you keep firing until the player is down. Use cover.

If you use infantry and marksman (4x scope) variants, you get the power but no scope glint.

The m95 has a straighr pull bolt so you can keep on target.. it doesnt one shot kill unless you head shot though

Dice are doing an advent calendar style event at the moment,

log in for some scraps and free battlepacks, also a few events - last weekend was 300 shotgun kills to get a new Machete.

I have to admit I did have a little smile getting my first kill with that, especially since I found out Westie didn't manage that unlock.

Is there another way of finding hc servers or do you just search for 'hardcore'? When I do this, it doesn't return many results.

I must admit I'm enjoying the hardcore version much more than the standard.

I’ve been playing hardcore conquest recently, enjoying it. Can you get all the game modes in hardcore?

Drives me mad when they do this kind of thing as I tend to play at odd hours and never on a weekend - when I checked on Monday the shotgun one was still live with no end date shown, then it suddenly disappeared.

Finally gave in and bought it in the sale for the PC. Last BF I had was BF Vietnam.
So far I've noticed no squad play, no one spots and I'm pretty sure I've pant weapons.

Cant work out the point of these battlepacks, or what I need to do to progress the weapons. I seemed to buy one the other day, but can't remember how I did that now !

Map wise, I'm loving the deset maps, not sure about the forest ones.

To buy new weapons, play a class and rank up, you get awarded 'warbond's, you can then use these to unlock other guns/variants. Some guns are also rank dependent or linked to achievements.

Automatico, SMLE, lewis gun and the ML sweeper are all good starter guns for each class. weapons don't get upgrades like previous battlefield games, but different variants have changing stats e.g low weight has less recoil, storm has a foregrip, telescopic has a... well you get the idea.

Battlepacks just give gun skins and the occasional squad boost or puzzle piece

hope that helps abit, otherwise type "westie battlefield 1" into youtube and there is loads of player guide stuff- best pistols, best medic gun etc

PTFO , squad up, preferably with people you know or share the PTFO mindset. Going rogue in this game is futile you need eyes everywhere all the time and you will still spawn die spawn die

Don't charge even as 10 assaults a blind charge can be halted with a rocket gun or anti tank grenade.

Chop and change class often if a particular one is yielding nothing on a map. I had this on ps 4 hated it due to pad and returned to it 8 months later with a monster spec P.C of my choosing and it's awesome but I detest the game flol. It's magnificent and hateful all at once but practice makes perfect.

Oh get a headset as talking to your squad makes it much easier. Having plaid both PS4 (pro) and pc. PC wins.

Oh expect to get called 'x' noob alot I e. Shotgun noob if you do well with shotgun or tank noob , sniper noob etc etc
