Will give this a try, and I'll use different slots to test, that way I'll know if any pins are compromised...

Arizona Sunshine and I expect you to die are pretty good.

I'm tempted to get Lone Echo but waiting until I have played the others first.

Also waiting for Doom and Alien to be released!

Still playing Onward. Tried other games like Raw Data but just not clicked with it like Onward.

Pavlov VR is also good but very fast paced (get proper dizzy and sweaty on that) and a little too arcade for me.

Superhot is good but got bored of it after a couple of hours so not really touched it since.

Lone Echo is fantastic.

Other than that, mostly iRacing and Elite.

Just downloaded Vanishing Realms for a bit of Skyrim style exploration and sword fighting action! Looks pretty good!

These VR games are unbelievably atmospheric. I had a go of a free game called Death Dojo for some samurai sword fighting. Not a very good game at all, but it could be excellent with a bit of work. When a big masked and armoured samurai strides straight towards you and swings his sword at you it feels very realistic (and scary)!

I'm very tempted by Lone Echo. It looks totally unique and the graphics look stunning. I'm a little hesitant to drop £30 on a game without native Vive support though as they could implement 'security' to stop it working at any time. I really wish they would quit the title exclusivity stuff, the hardware is too expensive for Vive owners to also buy a Rift, , just because they want to play a particular video game.

Had VR a few weeks now.

Single weirdest thing. Coming to a stop on iRacing and getting thrown forward in my seat.

First time it spooked me. Figured it was a one off an I'd get used to it. Still get it now. Can't work out if I'm bracing for it or what but it is weird

Imagine if games only worked on NVidia or AMD GPUs ? The game developers would not be in business for very long.

Most of the exclusive stuff is no more exclusive than Arkham/Batman on the PSVR - and there are tools such as Revive to help out, so there is very little that doesn't work in both directions.

I'm playing Elite. Some pCars, but mostly just Elite.

Do you have room scale?
Wait until you try and get up from the floor and lean on something that's not there.

Both Elite and PCars have native Vive support. I know I can play Lone Echo if I want to but, if I'm going to spend money on it, then I would like the assurance that it will continue to work that comes with native support. As it stands, all it would take is a U turn by oculus on their position and a patch and then despite having purchased the product, I would no longer be able to use it.

I'll probably buy it anyway but, it'd be nicer to do so with confidence and without having to faff about to actually get it to run.

When crashing in AC, and I can see myself heading for a wall, I still 'brace for impact' like I'm going to actually get hurt. It's one of the strange things about VR, I suppose. Your conscious mind knows it's not real, but your subconscious reacts as if it's real in many situations.

Most of these bits are now sat around my office. There was one change though, I ended up getting a 1080FE as well, because well.... yeah my credit card slipped and it was only £100 more than a 1070 and I can then use my 980 in the other machine in the office and then VR machine in the games room.

First crash in PCars did the same to me, I still flinch a little but I'm pretty much used to it now.

If you think crashing a car is bad, try firing up War Thunder and see what happens to your stomach when you crash a bi-plane rotatehehe

laugh

Nice choice, so your build cost just basically doubled then? tongue out

Dont blame you though, should last a good while with that card now and be great for VR in high settings!

VR is the new 3D.

Lots of hype, but the bubble is bursting.

I hope not, I've just ordered an Oculus Rift! I borrowed one for a week and have been truly amazed by it. Give it a few more years when more people will have computers powerful enough to run them and the technology will have reduced in price and I think we will see a rapid expansion.

3D TV was never very good as it doesn't work well on home sized screens. Also TV is a passive experience where you are more likely to become annoyed by wearing the glasses. In a completely immersive and interactive experience like VR, you don't notice the headset because you are too busy playing. The first discomfort I noticed recently was when my arms started aching from shooting too many arrows hehe

Have you tried it? I'm genuinely interested because people say this to me quite often when they hear I have a Vive yet, they've never had any hands on experience.....then they have a go on it and their opinion immediately changes. ("Holy st, that's amazing!" being the most common reaction hehe )

The technology will only improve, headsets will be lighter, wireless, have much higher resolution. The software development will also improve massively and the VR experience will be even more immersive.

What we have right now is amazing. What we will have in a few years will be mind blowing.
