You get the free games on Steam, you should have had a code emailed.
Anyone tried the Star Wars 'demo' yet?
I bought it from Currys - they told me the codes would be emailed across in 5-7 days, not sure from who though.Anyone tried the Star Wars 'demo' yet?
Star Wars demo is pretty poor. It looks terrible for one, and it has minimal interaction. That being said, you get to swing a lightsaber about for a bit...and it's free.
I was round my mates house at the weekend and managed to get to level 9 on "The Brookhaven Experiment" while playing the sewers level.
Holy crap that was really tense (had 5.1headphones on too, so completely immersed in the experience). This is a must own game if you have an HTC. And absolute must.
In the early levels I had 85/90% accuracy as I waited until the zom's were almost within arms reach before popping them with a single shot to the face each time. Only the bigger ones needed multiple shots hence dropping the accuracy down.
The UZI is a MUST have in the later levels and spending as much money on batteries and ammo (forget anything else) is very important. You can still squeeze off single or double shots with the UZI but with the bigger guys (and enough ammo) you can really put them down fast. (Even by level 8 I was still at 75% accuracy whilst using an UZI)
oh... and the dune like worms and the swarms of small jumpy running monkey things... they can both fk right off!!!
ps. Watched my mate play the Star Wars demo level and didn't even bother trying it myself, looked very dull.

I had a go on my mate's Vive about a week ago and loved it!! Up until then, I had no intention of buying one.... Mine arrived yesterday
Now I just need to wait for the arrival of the PC I also had to order to use it with and I'll write a proper review
Looking forward to PCars and, it sounds like budget cuts is also worth a look.
Is Elite Dangerous as good as I imagine it will be?!
Quite excited but, PC won't arrive for another week or two

I have spent most of my time on Hotdogs - gets weekly updates and whilst generally pretty boring as a "game" the new content keeps me amused for an hour each week.
I have yet to try project cars - tried Rfactor2 but struggling a bit with it tbh due to low res.
I also have P3D with Flyinside and its very good although waiting for the 1080ti so I can turn up the detail.

So who voted for Brexit? Vive UK price hike, now £769.99 in the UK, up from £689 due to the exchange rate.
Could probably sell mine for a profit now
That was lucky! I was going to wait until the new PC arrived to order it but, decided I would rather have it here ready to go!! Got my order in just in the nick of time it would seem! Could probably sell mine for a profit now
New game alert!
"Onward" is due to launch in alpha at the end of the month.
Looks wise.. well its a bit like SOCOM... the PS2 version from 2003!
The dev is one guy on his own so updates look like they might take a while but the initial videos look promising.
Will only be 4v4 to start with but once its rolled out and had a few upgrades might go to 8v8.

I've had mine for about a week now and I absolutely love it! I've tried all the free stuff that came with it: The Lab, Job Simulator and Fantastic Contraption. I've looked at a few free demos and experiences and bought the GOTY version of Project Cars.
Quite honestly, I am blown away! The sense of immersion is amazing, and utterly impossible to describe to anyone who hasn't tried it first hand. There are some minor issue with the graphics and screen door effect but, it really is minimal and will no doubt be eliminated when the 2nd gen VR headsets come out.
I have even managed to watch an entire movie (Jurassic World in 3D) without it being much of a concern. The 3D effect was spectacular and really 'pops'. Far more so that on a 3D TV.
Project Cars in VR is unbelievably good. I had my first VR 'moment' yesterday when I had a rather spectacular crash at Donnington in the Formula Rookie championships. As I slid sideways toward the barrier, such was the immersion that I physically flinched and instinctively put my arms up to protect my head! Getting used to it a bit more now but, that first crash was pretty scary!
Job Simulator, whilst a bit cartoonish and tongue in cheek, is so well realised that you can easily get lost in it, happily serving your robot customers and really feeling like you're 'there'.
Only had a quick go on Budget Cuts demo so far but, looking forward to spending a bit more time on it.
Next on the purchase list are Elite Dangerous and Raw Data (and having seen that video above, Onward when it is available)
Absolutely no buyer's remorse here, fantastic bit of kit!

Got mine 5 days ago, and was nervous about the cost and buyers remorse. Absolutely bloody love it! Kept it a secret from my two boys for 2 days so I could get a go, which is lucky, because now I have permanent arguments between them over who has the next go.
Running on a single GTX970 so far with no problems. Have a second GTX970 in non-SLI mode so actually have my 3 screen desktop still running fine as well.
Tracking is incredible, immersion is so off the chart even compared to my hopes for it. Can't wait for some AAA games to come now to really make the best of it. Mainly playing Longbow in The Lab, Zombie Survival Training and Final Approach. Some serious in-family competitiveness going on. Plus a wish for more headsets so we could have multi-player fun!

Onward out today, will be downloading tonight and having a go!
I'll be watching the thread with interest as I'm away from home until the weekend! Also, another quick heads up - I found a little gem on steam over the weekend. 'A10 VR' for only £3.99
Some footage here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eJGwlSAtiE
Yes, that is me playing and yes, I suck!
Just had 10 mins.
Some problems. Firstly, I am dropping a LOT of frames. My machine is 4 months old, pretty good spec. But I suspect my 970 is maxed out. Will be the first VR game that's done that if its the case.
Second llllaaaaaag! I guess their servers are being hammered? Also had a couple of dropped connections / being booted.
Did not actually manage to shoot anyone.
Motion sickness is there, but not bad. You get used to it after a couple of mins but running over objects and stuff throws me off balance.
Looks like it will be good but clearly a lot of performance issues. Controls are also not really explained either so off to see if I can find a control list!

Had an hour last night.
Performance is way, way better. Still a bit icky in places but a lot smoother.
Managed to get into a room with some really nice guys over the pond who explained a lot of the controls to me.
Managed my first kill, although out of maybe 10 rounds only 1 kill. Also managed to revive 2 people.
Main issue right now is still controls, firstly I can sprint only about 10% of the time. I am doing what they tell me and it occasionally works but most of the time I cant sprint. Second problem is shooting straight. Again not really got this down yet. And lastly changing from PWS to Sidearm takes me maybe 5 seconds, in which time I take 20 bullets and die!
After an hour I was done. Sweating and also feeling pretty sick. I could have got 2-3 more kills if I had been able to sprint for cover.
Another issue is there is no respawn so when you get down to 1v1 it gets boring and you are standing about a lot - I think upto about 10 mins last night for 1 round. There are also a few players who clearly have lots of beta hours in as one guy on our team was killing all 4 on the other team in less than 2 minutes.
All in all - its going to be the way forward. Given this is v0.1 I am looking forward to the next couple of years. I just hope the motion sickness is something I can overcome. I have had it in the past before after spending 8 hours a day staring at a computer screen in a moving vehicle but after a while I got used to it and could do full days no problem. So I hope with a bit more time it clears up. Might try ginger extract too. (IIRC)
