Well, I abandoned my idea of a 2nd Playthrough after getting intensely irritated by all the tutorial-style messages that I was bombarded with every few seconds. That and the idea of slogging through the whole story all over again.

Instead I did a Save Game Export in the standard game and then an Import in the Director's Cut

Right now I am gazing in horror at the fact that my beautiful Zipline network is in tatters, as all the Ziplines from other people are gone, leaving big holes in my coverage. And due to a lack of Strand Connections (they don't get carried over) and other factors (which I haven't worked out yet) I don't have enough Chiral Network Bandwidth to rebuild it all.

I'll probably just play with the new features a little bit and then knock it on the head I reckon.

Understandable. I had a two year gap, then played through the Director's Cut from the start. It is basically the same game. The additional plot bit/s were interesting but not really necessary. The extra combat - who cares? I bought it because it wasn't another shooter anyway.

Apologies if this is old news to everyone but me, but today I learned that Higgs is voiced by Troy Baker who also voiced Joel in The Last of Us and Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite, amongst many others.

I suppose it isn't a huge surprise as he is quite prolific.

Further info on the actors and voice actors of all the major characters here:

Aye, it was cool that he got a proper in game credit like all the other actors in Death Stranding though.

Last night I completed the road over the mountains and it was actually completely pointless. All it does is connect Mountain Knot City with Distribution Center South of Lake Knot City. Although it is a shorter route, it is very winding, and I wonder if it's actually quicker to go round the mountain on the existing road? Maybe not. I don't know. Anyway, it doesn't add much.

Also, I am noticing Online structures gradually falling into a state of disrepair, presumably as people are playing less and therefore not maintaining their structures. I've taken to deleting the ones that have gone red (ie. completely destroyed) in the hope that the game will replace them with someone else's structure.

I really should stop playing this game now. smile

Funnily enough the Epic mystery free game today is rumoured to be Death Stranding, again. If anyone missed it at Christmas.

I've just upgraded to a 4070 so might start playing it! Currently working my way through the Hitman games.

It'd be rude not to take advantage of that.

I'm a few hours into the game, but a little underwhelmed so far. Perhaps due to the controls and mechanics not being particularly well explained?

Really enjoying this now after a bit of perseverance! Initial 5-10 hours are a bit of a slog due to the learning curve, but after that it all comes together.

Currently addicted to this. Hated it at first, hated the controls and falling over all the time. Almost rage deleted it after destroying my first trike. Until I got the trike blueprint. Just coming to the end of level 3 but am currently at 5 stars with most people I've met as I've just been addicted delivering stuff!biggrin
Looking forward to the rest of it.
Nice little touch when you play it on your birthday. thumbup

I got this on ps5 when the directors cut came out to add to the lock down coping mechanism pile of u played games bought to make me feel better.

I should get round to it, but FF16 and Hogwarts legacy are in front.

Hopefully the lower player count won't muck up the new player experience.... Also got Horizon 2 to start.... Christ.

Finally finished this wonderful game! At times maddeningly frustrating but worth the hours and effort imo. Nearly rage quit and deleted it early on (although it wouldn't happen if I played it again due to now knowing the physics and the ease of beating BT's). The key to it is being able to get around quickly (massive slog if you have to walk), don't destroy your first motorbike too quickly! biglaugh
After leaving Port Knot City it all fell into place for me and I was obsessed with it. Thanks Hideo!

Not just the learning curve. When I started a 2nd playthough when I got Director's I got so pissed off by the incessant near-constant interruptions from Die-Hardman with nagging micromanaging that I had to stop and simply import my non-Director's save game instead.

Once I discovered the "don't fall over" control (on PC it is keeping both mouse buttons pressed whilst you walk) them it ceased to be an issue.

After a while you get to recognise when you don't need to, as you walk faster and use less stamina, but otherwise the 'falling over' thing is largely negated.

I don't think I get trophies / achievements on Epic but have put in 235+ hours

(I had to log in, get someone's cargo from the Shared Locker, and then Entrust it, in order to get those stats. Hence the 3'32 play time. Couldn't find any way to simply call it up)

Yep, massively frustrating at first but fine when you get used to it, it's fine. L2 + R2 on PS5. thumbup
