Anyone else reached level 32 and above, and got a bit bored with the game when it starts asking you for ever increasing amounts of XP to level up? I know it needs to be challenging, but when you need 750,000 or more XP to reach the next level, it feels a bit demotivating smile

It's 5 million from 39 to 40. Which is a chore.

It's all about friend grinding now (oooer missus) instead of Pidgy grinding.

I know... big numbers. Lucky eggs and best friends etc. soften the blow a bit - but it still takes ages. You can get from level 1 to level 20 almost in a few days, but once you reach level 30, each level-up seems to take weeks.

One small tip I found - on Android, Google have an app called Google Rewards. If you install it, Google sends you a short (usually one or two question) survey every few days. You don't actually have to give any personal info away (there's always an "other" or "I'd rather not say" option). Each survey you answer, you get a small amount of free Google Play Store credit, which you can then spend in Pokemon Go on stuff like lucky eggs.

It's quite the grind. I'm 36, halfway to 37, and even when I get to 37 I'll not quite have accrued half the total XP to get to 40.

Cheery thought: The total XP to get to 32 is the same required just to go from 38 to 39 biggrin

Which is why I'm a little surprised folk aren't opening my gifts every day. There must be half a dozen players from PH who play regularly, but don't open my gift each day. It's either because The reach the 20 per day limit without me, or they hate me.

Yeah, I have 20 friends on the go (not counting those already besties) and struggle to give more than 5-7 gifts per day.

I admit I sometimes miss the odd day for opening. It takes quite a while. They should have an option 'open all', or even better allow setting automatic opening per friend wink

As soon as you click "Open", click where the "X" button was. It'll still open and credit you all the stuff, you just don't need to watch the animation.

You can bash through them a bit quicker then!

Somedays I have a full bag and somedays I have egg holes and don't want any 7km eggs (got over 200 Meowth candies now) so I hold out on opening any. That and I have 35 friends and sometimes only pick up 2 or 3 gifts a day. Don't like to take a gift unless I can give one back thumbup

Sorry, I missed this. Just go ahead whenever you want. I'm in no rush to get to level 40.

Not wanting to speak for everyone, I don't worry about getting them back. Open from aStretchCarr without worrying about it. wink

I’m another one that doesn’t like opening gifts without having one to give back! I blame my mother for a good upbringing!! laugh

On a routine working day, I’ll not pick up anywhere near the 20 daily limit so I try to share equally.

Can't recall your username but I think I speak for most players when I say it doesn't matter if you don't have anything to give back - just open what is sent if you are within the 20/day capacity and the other player will send you another tomorrow!

If you open a gift and return one the same day, it still only counts as one day of "friendship".

I have had several exchanges with people who send gifts daily and block mine (by not opening the first one I sent). We have got to the 200K XP in short order. Similarly, I have "friends" who I gift to daily with no expectation they will ever give anything back, all I ask is that they open them and build up levels.

Just open the bloody thing!! hehe

Yeah, not bothered about reciprocating gifts, it'll all come out in the wash eventually.

I try to distribute gifts evenly as possible but PGo doesn't make this easy and one thing I think does affect it is that the default sort order is alphabetical, so even if you have 'sort by gifts available' selected and you run past those, the next friends listed will be alpha-sorted, either A-Z or Z-A, so people with names beginning with a/b/c or z/y/x will be at an advantage if people just crack on and fire gifts out to the next in the list. I try to compensate for this, sucks for anyone in the middle that might be disadvantaged by it though.

One thing the game could do a lot better at is filter or make a lot more obvious which users can or cannot accept gifts. That little arrow isn't 100%

The arrow shows that you've sent a gift already today, the little blue halo (might be different colour if you're a different team colour) shows whether you've "interacted" that day or not.

What would be bloody handy would be a "already has a gift from you waiting to be opened" marker

That's the puppy. Couldn't remember exactly which state it was that wasn't reflected in an icon.

I go through and try everyone first thing in the morning, and send out who I can. Then everyone with a halo but no sent marker needs a gift.
