I've had the new update land, and the new appraisal is much better. I will only need Poke Genie for moveset evaluation, renaming and battle prediction I guess...

Have you got any tips for getting high CP/Rare pokemon? I am level 24 atm and my highest is a 1900 Pinsir which i powered up myself quite a bit. I'm particularly interested in getting a Charizard/Venasaur/Blastoise. Is it a matter of evolving/doing raids/research or will these evolutions start appearing in the wild once i get to a higher level?

High IV is all a matter of chance, but there are a couple of ways to help yourself. Pokemon hatched from eggs or caught via a research task are more likely to be higher. The Silph Road will tell you which Pokemon are in which eggs and what the different research yields.

Whilst you're a lower level, I wouldn't worry too much about powering up, concentrate of getting beyond level 30, at the very least. If you want to raid or battle, then start to build out your stronger, more useful Pokemon. Personally, I would concentrate on building up a few High IV Dratinis, Larvitars, Beldums, Bagons and Giblets. I think they're all in 10km eggs, so get out and about. (You can get more candy by trading the rubbish but rare ones, so if you have a mate to play with, get involved with that.

Here's the new appraisal, attack is a more powerful stat.



You can swipe left and right to work through your caught Pokemon. Sort by New and you'll be able to check everything before you bin stuff for candy.

I'm enjoying the new update, IV checking on community days is going to be much easier and less time consuming now!

I'm also intrigued by the team rocket appearances and how they play out.

Might find the odd Hundo in the normal grind too, which will be a nice surprise.

Now all they need to add is a 'bin this one' flag, like the favourite star, so you can dump a whole load at once

I sort by new, start at the start, and favourite the ones to keep until I get to one I recognise as being "older". Then dump all the non-favourites.

FYI, if you type in 4* in the search box, you'll get a list of all your 100% ones.
3* is 82% - 98%, etc.

So, if you know someone who is high enough level on Ingress, and you live close to somewhere suitable, you can just get a Pokestop added. They asked for it on Monday, added today.

We’ve gained two new stops and a new gym in our village in the last week. The neighbouring, much smaller, village went from two stops and no gyms, to seven stops and three gyms. Virtually anything fixed down was being made a stop.

Stage 2 requires a Feebas evolution.

In other news, it looks like there will be Unown in 10km eggs in the first week of September. It might be worth saving up for the lucky box that has 18 incubators for 1,480 coins.
