My kids stopped playing earlier in the year and I stopped a couple of months ago. I don’t think we’ll be going back.

Five years of this stupid game

I've taken a bit of a break, and am not really missing it. I still sometimes instinctively reach for my phone as I come to a Pokestop on my dog walk, but it's coming less and less now.

Having played it since a week after it went live and with only having an 8 day break due to being in hospital a few years back I gave up with the level changes last year and to be honest have not missed it. I used it as an excuse to get me out for a walk, but too often during the winter that would be a jump in to the car to hot the local stops (and portals as I had started playing Ingress again).

Currently debating whether I'll ever have the stamina to catch 200 'mon in a day to get to level 41, I already have the XP to get to 42 but the sheer effort involved in grinding dozens of junk Pokemon to get past 40 is twisting my melon.

The grind gets even worse on the later levels. I think I got to 43 before I asked myself what am I doing this for?
