Just arrived in seattle, enjoying it so far. Much how I expected it to be to be honest.

Or a lot of neck beards are upset about it and review bombing. It is sad really people get so upset about it, i bet the majority haven't even bought the game.

I'll admit I haven't played it, but I know some of the beats, and I'm aware that you play a significant part of the game, several hours, as Abby, the character responsible for killing Joel. Can someone explain to me why I would even entertain doing that? Maybe Druckmann watched The Walking Dead and figured that Neegan ended up being sympathetic, so Abby would be too. Problem is - Neegan's redemption arc in the show took quite a bit of time, you weren't just expected to give a st about him straight after he'd battered two of your favourite characters. I get the whole "seek out revenge, dig two graves" st, but it feels like torture porn to expect people to play through so much of the game as a character who has done that.

I can't read what you have written as I either, a) haven't reached what you're on about or, b) it didn't really bother me that much.

I have to say the game play is still gripping me,proper, proper tense in places.

Or, there are people who loved the first game and are annoyed about the misleading trailers, what they did with established characters, games journalism, Naughty Dog's business practices and Sony's hypocrisy when it it comes to censorship

then don't play the game.
but don't rate the game a 1/10 just because the story doesn't go the way you want it to.

It's perfectly reasonable to rate something in context with what came before it. We're not talking about rating a Harry Potter movie poorly because you don't like wizards and spells, we're talking about a sequel with an established canon and goodwill, etc.

Having said that I wouldn't rate it 1/10 as clearly it's not a 1/10 game, but the story is a massive part. Rating it solely on the technical merits and disregarding the story and how it relates to the first game is just as invalid as a 1/10 score.

There were 5000 negative reviews within half a day of release.

Are they really all about the poor game play, i doubt it. I thought people left game reviews on how the game actually plays, seem different nowadays then.

Bad reviews for ''Naughty Dog's business practices and Sony's hypocrisy'' FFS, just don't buy the game.

There were also thousands of 10/10 scores left within hours of launch. It's a story driven game with over 5 hours of cutscenes, if people feel the story is poor then it will detract for the overall experience and they are entitled to criticise the game for it.

Jesus,it’s a game,if you don’t like the story, lesbians, producer,Zombies just don’t buy it,it’s really not going to affect your life in anyway.

I bought GTA5,played it for a couple of hours and couldn’t stand it,to this day I don’t get the hype.
What did I do about this revelation, rant and rave at the dev’s,spam the internet with my grievances,no,I switched it off and played something else, simple really.

Having played it a little more, there are gameplay irritations that don’t make sense. The forced artificial scarcity, for example... Why can I only carry 16 bullets for the pistol, or 12 for the revolver? The pistol even gets the magazines swapped over when reloading, and given they hold 10 rounds each I should be able to carry at least 20 bullets... Same for rifle ammo, etc.

Annoying, and makes no sense except to force always being low on supplies.

I have to say picking up one bullet of a dead bad guy after a gun fight is a little frustrating.Im playing on the medium setting so what hard is like for supplies must be painful.
Melee weapons on the other hand are quite satisfying. smile

Just done the hospital and onto the Ferris wheel.

This reeks of the whole gamergate thing tbh.

It absolutely does, but it also makes no sense. I can carry 3 bottles, 3 rolls of tape, 3 medical kits, etc. but only 16 tiny, tiny bullets? I’m playing on very easy - perhaps at higher levels you don’t get enough stuff to hit the limits, but it breaks some of the immersion for me.

Same for the melee weapons breaking - fair enough for a bit of wood, but you can’t tell me you can only hit people 5 times with a metal pipe or machete before they break? biggrin

Have you upgraded your melee weapon in the skills tree?
Failing that she's still pretty handy with a knife. wink

I have. Not saying it’s not handy - rather, it’s so useful I wish it wouldn’t keep breaking. biggrin
