PS4 GTA V Online (Vol 2)
Discussion
Any tips on how to have a bit more fun in online?
I'm not new to the game but pretty new to online having just picked up the controller again and having very little money and only being at rank 10 it kind of feels like I'm locked out of everything that makes it fun. Is it just a case of grinding away at it? What are the best ways of making money solo?

I kept on farming Sentinels (in fact I'm at rank 94 and still farm Sentinels - I have a garage nearby with six of them in it) and sell them. $15k to $17k a pop.I'm not new to the game but pretty new to online having just picked up the controller again and having very little money and only being at rank 10 it kind of feels like I'm locked out of everything that makes it fun. Flying under bridges challenge and longest freefall challenge I am unbeaten at. $10k + a go.
I'll also fly around in my helicopter and go after any and every bounty.
These are small sums compared to most on here, however I don't need a huge bank balance as I don't buy crazy stuff (although I do want the heli that looks like a Huey).
It's been a while since I was doing that - probably the same for most of us in the crew. Back then it was running contact missions, usually the same ones over and over. Buying a Buzzard as soon as you can afford it makes missions easier and doesn't cost you anything in ammo, and is really useful for getting around the map quickly.
Avoiding public lobbies where people just try to kill you is a good idea. Some tips I've found, which take into account new stuff:
The bounty challenges with the following hatchet challenge (earns 250k).
The treasure hunt with the following headshot challenge (earns 250k).
There are fairly regular offers in the weekly events where you get given money for not doing much - e.g. logging on every day for a week (make sure you go outside your garage, maybe change outfit or something which causes a save); linking your account to Twitch Prime (that expired a couple of days ago but gave you $1.25m) etc.
Here's a thread on GTA forums with more detailed advice about what businesses to buy: https://gtaforums.com/topic/923114-how-to-make-mon... - Import/export vehicle warehouse would be my preference since you make money from stealing cars, which is the heart of GTA.

Nice one, cheers guys. Had good fun doing the Maude missions yesterday, shame there's not more of them! I'll get on it again tonight, seems it's a case of spend money to make money.
If it's fun you're after, we usually get together and play playlists and races of various silly modes, so you're welcome to join in those! Add Challenger001 on PSN, I'll catch up with you and we can try and help you out.Yup. And they just dropped a few more info pieces:

Possibly the most relevant to us:
Conti GT?
This is apparently called the Annis S80RR, which I think is sort of R390GT?

And don’t forget, you can get the Master Penthouse with Social Club x Twitch Prime Benefits and hit Silver Status in The Diamond Program. There are two ways for players that link their accounts and claim their benefits to get free access.
If you have completed your sign up and the Master Penthouse isn’t showing as free, you can purchase the Master Penthouse and you’ll receive a rebate for the price of the base Master Penthouse within 48 hours. Otherwise, the price should list as ‘free’ for all active Twitch Prime members in good standing as of July 28th on August 1st, so long as you remain an active Prime member.

I’ll try to pop on tonight. It’s been a while since I played this game properly.
I’ve been on a few times in the past year but it’s been full of try-hards, so it’ll be good to team up and shoot them all.
I’ve still got $20m worth of winnings from the last Challenger duplicate spree, so may as well get spending.

Foxysnaps has started leaking the vehicles. The one that appeals to me...

Browse this for the full leaks. I won't be on until about 4 though, got work today.

3.5 GB download.
I had my PS set to automatic downloads but, as usual, it has decided to ignore that. I’ve now asked it to get on with it regardless but it’s saying a 2-3 hour wait, even with very fast broadband.
Those of you hoping to play tonight might be in for some disappointment if this doesn’t speed up.

So big changes for the car people: they removed the Advanced Handling Flags which should mean some cars start performing better. I guess His Broughyness will have to do that hard work.
Tested some of the new cars out. The Thrax (Bugatti looking thing) is averagely fast, very responsive steering but understeers a bit and the brakes aren't great. The Paragon (Conti GT) is kind of unspectacular. Very tail-happy. The 8F Drafter (Audi S5) is stiff as a board and doesn't like to turn at all. The S80RR (Le Mans Prototype) is brilliant. Sticks like glue to the road, almost no oversteer or understeer. Not the fastest in a straight line, but beautifully balanced. The Issi Sport (Touring Car Mini) is an absolute hoot. Grippy but tail-happy, pushes on great.
